7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your WORKPRO tools.
- Blade Cleaning: After each use, especially when trimming sap-producing plants, clean the blades with a damp cloth to remove debris. For stubborn residue, a mild detergent or blade cleaner can be used. Ensure blades are dry before storage.
- Blade Lubrication: Periodically apply a light machine oil or silicone spray to the blades to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation.
- Weed Puller Cleaning: Wipe the stainless steel components of the weed puller clean after each use. The stainless steel material is rust-resistant, but cleaning will maintain its appearance and function.
- Storage: Store the tools in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Ensure the trimmer's battery is partially charged (not fully depleted or fully charged) if storing for extended periods.
- Battery Care: Do not store the battery in extreme temperatures. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your WORKPRO tool, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Trimmer does not start. | Battery is low or depleted. Safety lock-off button not pressed. Blade not properly installed. | Charge the battery fully. Ensure the safety lock-off button is pressed before the ON/OFF switch. Re-install the blade, ensuring it clicks into place. |
| Blades are not cutting effectively. | Blades are dull or dirty. Material being cut is too thick. | Clean blades and lubricate. Consider replacing blades if excessively dull. Ensure material thickness is within specifications (max 0.31 inches for shrub blade). |
| Trimmer stops during operation. | Battery is low. Overload protection activated. | Recharge the battery. Reduce the load on the trimmer. Allow the motor to cool down if it feels hot. |
| Weed puller is difficult to use. | Soil is too dry or compacted. Incorrect leverage technique. | Water the area slightly before use to soften the soil. Ensure the metal base is firmly on the ground and you are leveraging correctly. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact WORKPRO customer support.
