Setup

Initial Time Setting

Your watch features both analog and digital time displays. The digital time is used for various functions, while the analog hands display the current time based on the digital setting.

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, press the MODE button (bottom left) to cycle through modes until the digital time display is shown.
  2. Press and hold the ADJUST button (top left) until the seconds start to flash, indicating the setting mode.
  3. Press the MODE button to cycle through the settings: Seconds → Hour → Minute → Year → Month → Day → 12/24-Hour Format.
  4. Use the SEARCH button (bottom right) to increase the flashing value or the LIGHT button (top right) to decrease it.
  5. Once all settings are correct, press the ADJUST button to exit the setting mode.
  6. The analog hands will automatically adjust to match the digital time. If they do not, refer to the "Analog Hand Adjustment" section.

Analog Hand Adjustment

If the analog hands do not match the digital time, they can be manually aligned.

  1. In the Timekeeping Mode, press the MODE button until you reach the Hand Setting Mode (usually indicated by "H-SET" or similar on the digital display).
  2. Press and hold the ADJUST button until the hour hand starts to move or a setting flashes.
  3. Use the SEARCH button to advance the analog hands. Hold it down for rapid movement.
  4. Align the hands to the 12 o'clock position for initial synchronization, or directly to the current digital time.
  5. Press the ADJUST button to confirm and exit. The hands should now synchronize with the digital time.

Strap Adjustment

The watch comes with a stainless steel band featuring a triple-fold safety clasp. For proper fit, the band may need to be adjusted by adding or removing links. This procedure typically requires specialized tools and is best performed by a qualified jeweler or watch technician to avoid damage to the band or clasp. The watch also supports a leather strap option, which can be interchanged.

Operating Instructions

Mode Navigation

Press the MODE button (bottom left) to cycle through the different modes:

  • Timekeeping Mode (displays current time and date)
  • Dual Time Mode (displays a second time zone)
  • Stopwatch Mode

  • Hand Setting Mode (for analog hand adjustment)

Dual Time Zone

The watch can display a second time zone digitally.

  1. Enter the Dual Time Mode by pressing the MODE button.
  2. Press and hold the ADJUST button until the hour setting starts to flash.
  3. Use the SEARCH button to set the desired hour and minute for the second time zone.
  4. Press the ADJUST button to confirm and exit.

Stopwatch Function

The stopwatch measures elapsed time with 1/100-second accuracy.

  1. Enter the Stopwatch Mode by pressing the MODE button.
  2. Press the SEARCH button to start the stopwatch.
  3. Press the SEARCH button again to stop it.
  4. Press the ADJUST button to reset the stopwatch to zero.

Daily Alarm

Set a daily alarm to sound at a specific time.

  1. Enter the Alarm Mode by pressing the MODE button.
  2. Press and hold the ADJUST button until the alarm hour setting starts to flash.
  3. Use the SEARCH button to set the desired alarm hour and minute.
  4. Press the ADJUST button to confirm.
  5. To turn the alarm ON/OFF, press the SEARCH button in Alarm Mode (without holding ADJUST).

Hourly Time Signal

The hourly time signal causes the watch to beep every hour on the hour.

  • In Alarm Mode, press the MODE button to cycle through alarm settings until the Hourly Time Signal (SIG) is displayed.
  • Press the SEARCH button to toggle the Hourly Time Signal ON or OFF.

Illuminator (Light)

Press the LIGHT button (top right) to illuminate the watch face for easy reading in low light conditions.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The Casio AMW-880D-9A uses one SR920W battery, which provides approximately 3 years of operation. When the display becomes dim or functions become erratic, it is time to replace the battery. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and functionality.

Water Resistance

IMPORTANT: This watch is NOT water resistant. Avoid all contact with water, including rain, splashes, showering, swimming, or any other moisture exposure. Water exposure will damage the watch and void the warranty.
