Model: BHTT460K01-BHZP660H10

Introduction

This instruction manual provides comprehensive guidance for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your new inova Schulte Full Interior Wooden Sliding Door. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning installation or use to ensure proper function and safety. Keep this manual for future reference.

1. Setup and Installation

Before starting, ensure you have all components and the necessary tools. The installation process involves mounting the rail, attaching the door leaf, and installing the soft-close mechanism and floor guide.

1.1 Required Tools

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • 4 mm Allen key
  • Drill with 6 mm and 10 mm bits
  • Measuring tape
  • Level
  • Pencil

1.2 Package Contents

Verify that all parts are present:

  • Wooden sliding door leaf (25 mm thick particle board with melamine resin coating)
  • Aluminum rail system (black powder-coated)
  • Door trolleys with maintenance-free ball bearings
  • Black bar handle
  • Floor guide pin
  • Wall spacer profile (optional, 16 mm bridging)
  • Mounting hardware (screws, anchors, etc.)
  • Soft-close damper mechanism (if included with your model)

1.3 Dimensions and Planning

Carefully measure your installation area. The door dimensions are 88x203 cm. The rail length is 1810 mm for this door size. Consider the wall distance profile for existing door frames or skirting boards.

Diagram showing the dimensions of the Schulte sliding door and its rail system. The door measures 880 mm in width and 2035 mm in height. The rail length is 1810 mm. The total height from floor to top of rail is 2095 mm.

Figure 1: Overall dimensions of the sliding door system. Note the door width (880 mm), door height (2035 mm), and rail length (1810 mm).

The wall spacer profile is included and can be used to create a larger distance from the wall, accommodating existing door frames or electrical outlets. The floor guide ensures the door slides smoothly without swinging.

Diagram illustrating the wall distance profile and floor guide pin installation. One diagram shows a 5 mm wall distance without the profile, and another shows a 21 mm distance with the profile. The floor guide pin is shown installed 17 mm from the door edge, and another option shows a 10 mm gap with a 33 mm guide.

1.4 Rail Installation

  1. Marking: Determine the desired height for the rail. Use a level to mark the drilling points accurately on the wall. Ensure the rail is perfectly horizontal.
  2. Drilling: Drill holes at the marked points using the appropriate drill bit (e.g., 6 mm or 10 mm depending on wall material and anchors). Insert wall anchors if necessary.
  3. Mounting the Rail: Secure the aluminum rail to the wall using the provided screws. If using the wall spacer profile, install it between the wall and the rail.

1.5 Door Leaf and Trolley Attachment

  1. Attach Trolleys: Secure the ball-bearing trolleys to the top edge of the door leaf according to the instructions provided with the hardware.
  2. Hang Door: Carefully lift the door leaf and hook the trolleys into the rail system. Ensure the door hangs freely and can slide along the rail.

1.6 Soft-Close Mechanism (Optional)

If your model includes the soft-close mechanism, install it at the ends of the rail. This system gently brakes the door before it reaches its final position, preventing slamming.

  1. Positioning: Identify the correct positions for the soft-close units on the rail, typically near the open and closed positions of the door.
  2. Attachment: Secure the soft-close units to the rail using the provided fasteners. Test the mechanism by gently sliding the door.

1.7 Floor Guide Installation

Install the floor guide pin to prevent the door from swinging away from the wall during operation.

  1. Placement: Position the floor guide pin on the floor directly beneath the door's path, ensuring it aligns with the groove at the bottom of the door.
  2. Securing: Mark the drilling points, drill, and secure the floor guide pin to the floor.

2. Operating Instructions

Your inova Schulte sliding door is designed for smooth and quiet operation. To open or close the door, simply grasp the handle and slide the door along the rail. The maintenance-free ball bearings ensure effortless movement.

2.1 Soft-Close Functionality

If your door is equipped with the soft-close mechanism, it will automatically engage as the door approaches its fully open or fully closed position. This feature gently slows the door down and guides it to a soft stop, preventing abrupt impacts and reducing wear.

3. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your sliding door.

3.1 Cleaning

  • Door Surface: The melamine resin coating on the door leaf is easy to clean. Use a soft, damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaning agent. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers, as these can damage the surface.
  • Rail System: Periodically wipe down the aluminum rail and trolleys with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not apply lubricants to the rail or bearings, as they are designed to be maintenance-free.

  • Mounting Screws: Ensure all screws securing the rail to the wall are tight. Retighten if necessary.
  • Trolleys: Verify that the door trolleys are moving freely and quietly.
  • Floor Guide: Check that the floor guide pin is securely fastened and properly aligned with the door's groove.

4. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:
