The MAXTO MX1 features a streamlined design with intuitive controls for easy operation while riding. Familiarize yourself with the main components:

Installation Guide

The MAXTO MX1 is compatible with various helmet types. Follow these steps to install the headset:

  1. Choose Mounting Method:
    • Clamp-on Bracket: Securely attaches to the helmet shell edge. Use the included Allen wrench to tighten.
    • Adhesive Bracket: For helmets where a clamp cannot be used. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before applying.
  2. Install Speakers: Place the HiFi stereo speakers inside the helmet's ear pockets using the provided Velcro pads. Ensure they are positioned directly over your ears for optimal sound quality.
  3. Install Microphone:
    • Boom Microphone: Attach to the inside of the helmet near your mouth, typically on the left side, using Velcro.
    • Soft-wire Microphone: For full-face helmets, attach inside the chin bar near your mouth using Velcro.
  4. Route Cables: Carefully route all cables under the helmet's padding to keep them tidy and prevent interference with your comfort or helmet function.
  5. Connect Main Unit: Slide the main unit onto the mounted bracket until it clicks into place. Connect the speaker/microphone cable to the main unit's port.

Initial Setup

Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge your MAXTO MX1 headset. Connect the USB Type-C charging cable to the headset's charging port and a suitable USB power source. The indicator light will show charging status and turn off when fully charged. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.

Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the multi-function dial for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator light flashes and you hear a power-on prompt.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the multi-function dial for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator light turns off and you hear a power-off prompt.

Operating Instructions

Bluetooth Pairing (Mobile Phone)

To connect your MAXTO MX1 to your mobile phone for calls and music:

  1. Ensure the MX1 is powered off.
  2. Press and hold the multi-function dial for approximately 5-7 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternately, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your mobile phone, go to Bluetooth settings and search for new devices. Select "MAXTO MX1" from the list.
  4. Once paired, the indicator light will flash blue slowly, and you will hear a confirmation tone.

Intercom Pairing (Rider-to-Rider)

The MAXTO MX1 supports 2-rider intercom communication up to 800 meters. To pair two MX1 units:

  1. Ensure both MX1 units are powered on and not connected to any other devices.
  2. On both units, press and hold the multi-function dial for approximately 5 seconds until the indicator lights flash red and blue alternately.
  3. Briefly press the multi-function dial on one of the units. The units will search for each other.
  4. Once connected, the indicator lights on both units will flash blue slowly, and you will hear a confirmation tone.
  5. To initiate intercom conversation, briefly press the multi-function dial on either unit. To end, press it again.

Call Management

  • Answer Call: When an incoming call is detected, the MX1 will automatically answer after 10 seconds, or you can briefly press the multi-function dial to answer immediately.
  • End Call: Briefly press the multi-function dial during a call.
  • Reject Call: Press and hold the multi-function dial for 2 seconds when a call is incoming.

Music Control

  • Play/Pause: Briefly press the multi-function dial.
  • Next Track: Rotate the multi-function dial clockwise.
  • Previous Track: Rotate the multi-function dial counter-clockwise.
  • Volume Up/Down: Rotate the multi-function dial while holding it.

Voice Assistant

To activate your phone's voice assistant (Siri or Google Assistant):

  • Ensure your phone is paired and the voice assistant is enabled.
  • Double-click the multi-function dial to summon the voice assistant.

  • No sound from speakers: Check if the speaker cable is securely connected to the main unit. Ensure volume is not set to minimum.
  • Poor sound quality/microphone issues: Ensure speakers are positioned correctly over your ears. Check microphone placement and ensure it's not obstructed.
  • Short battery life: Ensure the device is fully charged before use. Battery performance may decrease over time with prolonged use.
