6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Aarke Kettle.
6.1 Exterior Cleaning
- Always unplug the kettle and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the base with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn marks, use the provided Aarke cleaning cloth or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
- Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning pads, or metal brushes, as these can damage the stainless steel finish.
- Ensure all surfaces are thoroughly dried after cleaning.
6.2 Interior Cleaning and Descaling
The kettle's wide opening and hidden heating element make interior cleaning effortless. Regular descaling is important, especially in areas with hard water.
- Hand Wash Only: The kettle is not dishwasher safe.
- General Cleaning: For general cleaning, wipe the interior with a soft cloth and warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
- Descaling: Limescale buildup can affect performance. To descale, fill the kettle with a solution of water and white vinegar (1:1 ratio) or a commercial descaling agent according to its instructions. Bring the solution to a boil and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy buildup. Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly several times with fresh water.
- Removable Limescale Filter: The stainless steel filter can be removed for cleaning. Rinse it under running water and gently brush away any limescale deposits. Ensure it is properly reinserted before use.
