Installing the SafeMax Infant Car Seat Base:

The SafeMax base features a stay-in-car convenience design. It can be installed using either your vehicle's LATCH system or the vehicle's seat belt.

1. Positioning the Base: Place the base on the vehicle seat in the rear-facing position. Ensure the anti-rebound bar is positioned correctly against the vehicle seat back.
2. Adjusting Recline: Use the 4-position adjustment dial on the base to achieve the correct recline angle for your infant. The pendulum level indicator will help confirm proper positioning.
3. LATCH Installation: For LATCH-equipped vehicles, connect the SureSafe LATCH connectors to your vehicle's lower anchors. Tighten the LATCH strap until the base is securely installed with less than one inch of movement side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.
4. Vehicle Seat Belt Installation: If using the vehicle's seat belt, route the lap and shoulder belt through the designated belt path on the base. Utilize the one-step vehicle belt lock-off to secure the belt tightly. Ensure the base is installed with less than one inch of movement.

Attaching the LiteMax Infant Car Seat to the Base:

Once the base is securely installed, align the LiteMax infant car seat with the base and firmly push down until it clicks into place. Always check that the car seat is securely latched to the base before placing your child in it.

3. Operating the Car Seat

Ensure your child is properly secured in the car seat for every ride.

1. Harness Adjustment: Adjust the shoulder harness straps to the correct height, ensuring they are at or just below your child's shoulders when rear-facing. The LiteMax 35 offers 4 shoulder harness positions.
2. Buckling: Place your child in the seat. Bring the buckle tongues together and insert them into the buckle until they click. Pull the harness strap to tighten the harness snugly against your child's body. Ensure the chest clip is at armpit level.
3. Buckle Pockets: The car seat features buckle pockets that neatly tuck buckle tongues away, making loading and unloading your child easier and preventing hot buckle burns.

Canopy Usage:

The full-coverage canopy can be extended to protect your child from sun, wind, and light rain. Simply pull the canopy forward or push it back as needed.
