1. Introduction

The OREI HD-22VW is a high-performance 4K Video Wall Controller designed for multi-screen display applications. 4. Setup

4.1 Connecting Your Devices

  1. Connect Input Source: Use an HDMI cable to connect your source device (e.g., Blu-ray player, PC, gaming console) to the HDMI IN port on the controller. Alternatively, use a USB-C cable to connect a compatible device to the USB-C IN port.
  2. Connect Displays: Use HDMI cables to connect your four display monitors to the VIDEO WALL OUT (1-4) ports. Ensure monitors are connected in the correct order (1, 2, 3, 4) according to your desired video wall layout.
  3. Connect Audio (Optional): If you wish to extract audio, connect your audio receiver or soundbar to the OPTICAL OUT port using an optical cable, or to the L/R AUDIO OUT port using a 3.5mm audio cable.
  4. Connect IR Extender (Optional): If the controller is placed in a cabinet or out of direct line of sight, connect the IR extender cable to the IR EXT port and position the extender's receiver in a visible location.
  5. Connect Power: Plug the DC 12V power adapter into the DC 12V port on the controller, then plug the adapter into a power outlet. The power LED on the front panel will illuminate.

4.2 Initial Power On

Upon connecting power, the unit will perform an internal power-on self-test. Once complete, the power LED will light up, indicating the device is ready for use. The controller will automatically detect the input source and attempt to display it across the connected monitors in a default 2x2 video wall mode.

5. Operating Modes

The OREI HD-22VW supports 15 pre-programmed display modes, allowing for flexible video wall configurations. These modes can be selected using the MODE button on the front panel or via RS-232 control.

  • 2x2 Mode: Displays a single source across four screens in a 2x2 grid.
  • 1x2 Mode (Horizontal): Displays a single source across two screens horizontally.
  • 2x1 Mode (Vertical): Displays a single source across two screens vertically.
  • 1x1 Mode (Splitter): Each display shows the same full source content.
  • 1x3, 3x1, 1x4, 4x1 Modes: Various horizontal and vertical arrangements for three or four displays.

Note: The total output resolution is fixed to 1080p@60Hz in Video Wall mode. 180-degree rotation only works in video wall mode.

6. Advanced Features

6.1 Bezel Adjustment

The controller supports bezel adjustment to compensate for the physical bezels of your displays, creating a more seamless image across the video wall. This feature is crucial for a professional and visually appealing multi-screen setup.

6.2 180-Degree Rotation

The 180-degree image rotation feature allows you to rotate the content on individual screens, which is particularly useful when using displays in portrait orientation or for creative video wall designs. This feature is active only in video wall mode.

6.3 EDID Management

The device includes EDID management capabilities to ensure optimal compatibility between the source device and the displays, preventing resolution or format issues.

6.4 RS-232 Control

For advanced control and integration into professional AV systems, the HD-22VW can be controlled via RS-232 commands. This allows for remote management and automation of display modes, input selection, and other settings.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Video Output:
    • Ensure all HDMI/USB-C cables are securely connected.
    • Verify the power adapter is connected and the unit is powered on.
    • Check if the input source is active and outputting a signal.
    • Try cycling through input sources using the front panel buttons or remote.
    • Confirm that the displays are set to the correct HDMI input.
  • Incorrect Display Mode/Layout:
    • Use the MODE button to cycle through available video wall modes until the desired layout is achieved.
    • Ensure monitors are connected to the HDMI outputs (1-4) in the correct physical order for the chosen mode.
  • No Audio Output:
    • Verify audio cables are correctly connected to the OPTICAL OUT or L/R AUDIO OUT ports and to your audio system.
    • Check the volume levels on your audio system.
    • Ensure the audio format from the source is compatible with the controller and your audio system.
  • Remote Control Not Working:
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the IR receiver on the front panel (or the IR extender).
    • Check and replace the remote control batteries if necessary.
    • Verify the IR extender is properly connected if used.

9. Maintenance

  • Keep the device in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area to prevent overheating.
  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid or aerosol cleaners.
  • Do not attempt to open or service the unit yourself. Refer to qualified personnel for repairs.
