3. Product Overview

3.1 Front Panel Ports

  • USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 Port: For high-speed data transfer.
  • USB 3.2 Gen 1 Ports (x2): For connecting USB-A devices.

3.2 Rear Panel Ports

  • DisplayPort (x2): For connecting external monitors.
  • HDMI Ports (x3): For connecting external monitors, supporting up to 8K resolution.
  • USB 2.0 Port: For connecting standard USB-A devices.
  • Ethernet (RJ45) Port: For wired network connectivity.
  • DC 20V Power Input: For connecting the included power adapter.
  • Host USB-C Port: Connects to your laptop's USB-C port.

4. Setup Instructions

  1. Connect Power: Plug the DC power supply into the "DC 20V" port on the rear of the docking station, then plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
  2. Connect to Host Device: Use the provided USB-C to USB-C cable to connect the "HOST" USB-C port on the docking station to a USB-C port on your laptop or computer.
  3. Connect Peripherals:
    • Monitors: Connect your external monitors to the HDMI and/or DisplayPort outputs on the rear of the docking station. The docking station supports up to five monitors simultaneously.
    • USB Devices: Connect USB-A devices (keyboard, mouse, external drives) to the available USB-A ports (USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 2.0) on the front and rear panels.
    • USB-C Devices: Connect USB-C peripherals to the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port on the front panel.
    • Network: For a wired internet connection, connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port.
    • Audio: Connect headphones or speakers to the 3.5mm audio jack.
    • Memory Cards: Insert SD or MicroSD cards into the respective slots.
  4. Driver Installation (if necessary): In most cases, the docking station is plug-and-play. If your operating system does not automatically detect the device or external displays, visit the Verbatim support website for driver downloads.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

The docking station powers on automatically when connected to a powered host device and its own power supply. There is no separate power button. A blue LED indicator on the front panel will illuminate when the device is active.

5.2 Display Configuration

Once monitors are connected, your operating system should detect them. You can configure display settings (resolution, orientation, extended/duplicate mode) through your computer's display settings:

  • Windows: Right-click on the desktop > Display settings.
  • macOS: System Settings (or System Preferences) > Displays.

The docking station supports resolutions up to 8K Ultra HD, depending on your host device's capabilities and connected monitors.

5.3 Data Transfer and Charging

The USB ports support data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 2) and 5Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 1). The docking station also provides Power Delivery (PD) up to 100W to charge your connected laptop via the host USB-C connection, provided your laptop supports USB-C PD.

6. Maintenance and Care

  • Keep the docking station in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid exposing the device to water or other liquids.
  • Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the device to prevent overheating.
  • Disconnect the power supply and all cables before cleaning or if the device will not be used for an extended period.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Verify your laptop's display settings are configured to detect and extend/duplicate displays.

  • Update graphics drivers on your laptop.
USB devices are not recognized.
  • Ensure the docking station is powered.
  • Try connecting the USB device to a different port on the docking station.
  • Connect the USB device directly to your laptop to confirm it functions independently.
  • Restart your laptop.
Laptop is not charging.
  • Confirm the DC power supply is securely connected to the docking station and a power outlet.
  • Ensure your laptop supports Power Delivery (PD) via its USB-C port.
  • Verify the USB-C to USB-C cable is connected to the "HOST" port on the docking station and your laptop.
Ethernet connection issues.
  • Check the Ethernet cable connection to both the docking station and your router/modem.
  • Verify network settings on your laptop.
  • Test the Ethernet cable with another device if possible.
