Setup

Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the Banshee 80V battery. Use only original Kobalt 80V chargers or compatible Banshee chargers.

  1. Insert the battery pack firmly into the charger. Ensure it clicks into place.
  2. Connect the charger to a standard power outlet.
  3. Monitor the charger's indicator lights. The battery is fully charged when the indicator shows a solid green light (or as per your charger's specific instructions).
  4. Once fully charged, disconnect the charger from the power outlet and remove the battery.

Note: A new battery pack may not be fully charged out of the box. It is recommended to fully charge it before its first use to ensure optimal performance and lifespan.

Operating Instructions

Inserting the Battery

  1. Ensure the power tool is turned off and disconnected from any power source (if applicable).
  2. Align the battery pack with the battery port on your Kobalt 80V Max tool.
  3. Slide the battery into the port until it locks securely into place. You should hear a click.
  4. Verify the battery is firmly seated before operating the tool.

Removing the Battery

  1. Turn off the power tool.
  2. Locate the battery release button(s) on the tool.
  3. Press and hold the release button(s) while sliding the battery pack out of the tool.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Keep the battery contacts clean. Use a dry cloth to wipe off any dust or debris. Do not use liquids or solvents.
  • Storage: For long-term storage, store the battery in a cool, dry place, ideally at a partial charge (around 50%). Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Charging Cycles: Avoid completely draining the battery before recharging. Frequent partial charges are generally better for lithium-ion battery life than full discharge cycles.
  • Temperature: Do not charge or use the battery in extremely hot or cold conditions. Optimal operating temperature is typically between 0°C and 40°C (32°F and 104°F).
