2. Setup Guide
2.1 Unboxing and Component Identification
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all listed items in the instruction guide are present. The main components include the robot vacuum, the RockDock Ultra, power cord, and a disposable dust bag (pre-installed in the dock).
2.2 Dock Setup and Placement
Place the RockDock Ultra on a hard, flat surface against a wall, ensuring adequate space around it for the robot to maneuver. Connect the power cord to the dock and plug it into a 100V-120V power outlet. Ensure the dock's water tanks (clean and dirty) are properly installed and the automatic detergent dispenser is filled.

2.3 Initial Robot Placement and Charging
Place the robot onto the charging contacts of the RockDock Ultra. The robot will automatically begin charging. For optimal performance, ensure the robot is fully charged before its first cleaning cycle.
2.4 App Download and Initial Setup
Download the Roborock app from your device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your robot to your 2.4G WiFi network. The app will guide you through initial mapping of your home, allowing the robot to learn its environment and create efficient cleaning routes.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Basic Cleaning Functions
Initiate cleaning cycles directly from the robot's physical buttons or through the Roborock app. The robot will automatically vacuum and mop simultaneously based on its programmed settings.

3.3 Smart Navigation and Obstacle Avoidance
The S8 Max Ultra utilizes PreciSense LiDAR technology for precise navigation and detailed mapping. Reactive 3D Obstacle Avoidance allows the robot to detect and skillfully bypass objects in its path, ensuring thorough and time-effective cleaning.

3.4 Efficient Carpet Care
With 20mm Auto Mop Module Lifting, the S8 Max Ultra automatically lifts the mop when cleaning carpets to prevent dampness. The Roborock app offers various carpet cleaning options, including vacuuming carpets first, deep carpet cleaning, and activating carpet boost mode.

3.5 Intelligent Dirt Detection
The RockDock Ultra features intelligent dirt detection. During mop washing, it continuously checks dirt levels to adjust mop-washing duration. For heavily soiled areas, the robot will return to re-mop to ensure a perfect clean.

3.6 Advanced App Control and Voice Commands
The Roborock app offers cutting-edge AI algorithms for enhanced cleaning efficiency. Features include SmartPlan for optimized cleaning intensities, Temporary Cleaning for unexpected situations, Pet Area Deep Cleaning, Smart Suggestions for No-Go Zones, and Multi-Level Mapping. The robot also supports third-party voice control via Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri, or Google Assistant.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Dust Bag Replacement/Emptying
The RockDock Ultra features automatic dust collection. The disposable dust bag inside the dock can hold up to 7 weeks of debris. Replace the bag when full. You may also manually empty the bag if preferred.
4.2 Mop Washing and Drying
The dock automatically washes the mop with hot water (up to 140°F) and detergent. After washing, it uses hot air drying to prevent odors. Ensure the clean and dirty water tanks are maintained regularly.
4.3 Water Tank Refilling/Emptying
The dock automatically refills the robot's water tank. Regularly check and refill the clean water tank and empty the dirty water tank to ensure continuous mopping performance.
4.4 Brush Cleaning
The robot features DuoRoller Riser Brushes designed to minimize hair tangles. Periodically check and clean the brushes to maintain optimal performance.
4.5 General Care Tips
Regularly wipe down the robot's sensors and charging contacts with a dry cloth. Avoid leaving cables or small objects on the floor that could entangle the robot.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues
If the robot fails to connect to Wi-Fi, ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz network. Try restarting both the robot and your router. If issues persist, refer to the app's troubleshooting guide or perform a robot reset.

5.2 Corner Cleaning and Object Avoidance
While the FlexiArm design improves corner cleaning, some debris might accumulate in very tight corners. Periodically manually sweep these areas. For persistent object avoidance issues, ensure the Reactive 3D sensors are clean and free from obstructions.
5.3 Hair Tangles and Suction Issues
Regularly inspect and clean the DuoRoller Riser Brushes to prevent hair tangles, which can affect suction. If suction seems reduced, check the dust bag and filters for fullness or blockages.
5.4 Robot Reset
If the robot becomes unresponsive or exhibits unusual behavior, a factory reset may resolve the issue. Refer to the user manual or the official roborock video guide for detailed steps on how to reset your device.
