Installation Instructions

Follow these steps carefully for a successful and secure installation. It is recommended to have a second person assist with the installation.

  1. Prepare Vehicle: Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Ensure the area around the vehicle is clear.
  2. Identify Mounting Points: Locate the factory mounting points along the rocker panel of your Jeep Wrangler JL 2 Door. These are typically pre-drilled holes in the vehicle's frame.
  3. Attach Brackets: Secure the mounting brackets to the vehicle's frame using the provided bolts, washers, and nuts. Do not fully tighten the hardware at this stage; allow for some adjustment. Ensure the brackets are oriented correctly for the driver and passenger sides.
  4. Position Running Boards: Carefully lift one running board and align it with the attached mounting brackets. The running board is designed to fit snugly against the vehicle's body.
  5. Secure Running Boards: Attach the running board to the brackets using the remaining hardware. Again, do not fully tighten yet.
  6. Adjust and Align: Once both running boards are loosely attached, adjust their position to ensure they are level and properly aligned with the vehicle's body.
  7. Final Tightening: Systematically tighten all bolts and nuts, starting from the center and working outwards. Ensure all connections are secure. Do not overtighten.
  8. Repeat for Other Side: Follow the same steps for the opposite side of the vehicle.

Operation and Safety

The Nilight Running Boards provide a convenient step for easier entry and exit from your vehicle. They also offer additional protection against road debris and minor impacts.

  • Anti-Slip Surface: The textured surface of the running boards is designed to prevent slips, especially in wet or muddy conditions. Always step firmly and maintain balance.
  • Load Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum load bearing capacity of 450 lbs per side. Overloading can cause damage to the running boards or the vehicle's mounting points.
  • Impact Resistance: While designed to be impact-resistant, these running boards are not intended for severe off-road impacts. Avoid using them as rock sliders in extreme conditions.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and appearance of your Nilight Running Boards.

  • Cleaning: Clean the running boards regularly with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.
  • Inspect Hardware: Periodically check all mounting hardware (bolts, nuts, brackets) for tightness. Vibrations from driving can sometimes loosen connections over time. Retighten as necessary.
  • Check for Damage: Inspect the running boards for any signs of damage, such as cracks, dents, or excessive wear, especially after off-road use. Address any damage promptly to prevent further issues.
