The BOTSLAB G980H Dash Cam is a high-performance dual camera system designed to enhance your driving safety and provide reliable video evidence. Featuring 4K resolution for the front camera and 1080P for the rear, it captures crisp, detailed footage day and night. Equipped with advanced features like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), built-in GPS, WiFi connectivity, and a supercapacitor for enhanced durability, this manual will guide you through its setup, operation, and maintenance.

Setup

1. Micro SD Card Insertion

Insert the provided 64GB Micro SD card into the TF card slot on the side of the main unit. Ensure the card is inserted correctly until it clicks into place. The dash cam supports up to 256GB storage.

2. Mounting the Dash Cam

  1. Clean the windshield area where you intend to mount the dash cam.
  2. Apply one of the electrostatic films to the cleaned area. This allows for easier removal and repositioning without leaving residue.
  3. Attach the 3M tape to the dash cam mount.
  4. Firmly press the dash cam mount onto the electrostatic film on your windshield, ensuring a secure adhesion. Position it to not obstruct your view.

3. Connecting the Rear Camera (Optional)

  1. Mount the rear camera on your rear windshield using the provided 3M tape.
  2. Route the 21.3ft rear camera cable from the rear camera to the main dash cam unit. Use the installation pry bar to tuck the cable neatly along the vehicle's headliner and A-pillars.
  3. Connect the rear camera cable to the designated port on the main dash cam unit.

4. Power Connection

Connect the 11.5ft power supply cable to the Type-C power port on the dash cam and plug the car charger into your vehicle's 12V power outlet. The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle starts.

5. App Download and Connection

Download the "Botslab" app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Once installed, open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your dash cam via 2.4G/5Ghz WiFi for faster transfer speeds. This allows for live viewing, footage download, and settings adjustment.

Operating

1. Basic Recording

The dash cam automatically starts recording when powered on. It utilizes seamless loop recording, continuously overwriting the oldest footage when the Micro SD card is full, ensuring uninterrupted coverage. Emergency videos are locked and protected from being overwritten.

2. G-Sensor & Emergency Recording

The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden shakes or collisions. When an incident is detected, the dash cam automatically locks the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. This ensures critical footage is preserved.

3. Parking Monitor

With an optional hardware kit (not included), the dash cam can provide 24-hour parking monitoring. It supports time-lapse recording (1 frame per second) for optimal storage and collision-detected recording, which auto-activates and records 1 minute of emergency footage upon impact.
