4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Align the battery pack with the grooves on the back of the radio.
- Slide the battery pack upwards until it clicks into place.

- Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

- Power Off: Rotate the Power/Volume Knob (02 in Figure 2.1) counter-clockwise until a click is heard.
- Volume Adjustment: Rotate the Power/Volume Knob (02 in Figure 2.1) clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.
5.2 Channel Selection
- Use the Navigation Keys (09 in Figure 2.1) to scroll through available channels.
- Alternatively, use the Numeric Keypad (10 in Figure 2.1) to directly input a channel number.
5.3 Transmitting and Receiving
- To Transmit: Press and hold the PTT Key (11 in Figure 2.1) on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT key to stop transmitting.
- To Receive: Ensure the PTT key is not pressed. The radio will automatically receive signals on the selected channel.
