1. Introduction

The BOTSLAB 5MP Wireless Video Doorbell R810 is designed to provide comprehensive home security with advanced features and easy installation. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your new video doorbell system, ensuring optimal performance and peace of mind.

2. What's in the Box

Please ensure all components are present and in good condition upon opening the package:

  • 1x Video Doorbell 2 Pro, 1x Base Station
  • 1x Wall Mount Bracket + Wall Mount Sticker
  • 1x 15-Degree Mounting Bracket + Sticker, 2x Power Adapters
  • 1x Accessory Kit for Installation, 1x AC Cable Package, 1x Ejector Pin

3. Product Overview

3.1 Doorbell Outdoor Unit

The outdoor unit features a camera lens, infrared lamp, IR sensor, microphone input, radar sensor, doorbell button, indicator light, and speaker output. On the back, you'll find the Type-C charging port, disassembly opening, and low-voltage power connection points.

3.2 Indoor Signal Base Station

The base station includes a reset button, indicator light, antennas, speaker output, and power plug. It acts as a central hub for your doorbell's signals and local storage.

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Installation Methods

4.1.1 Adhesive Installation (for smooth, non-metallic surfaces)

  1. Ensure the surface is smooth, dry, and clean.
  2. Attach the flat back panel to the desired location.
  3. Ensure the surface is non-metallic to avoid electromagnetic interference.
  4. Mount the backplate, ensuring both sides of the doorbell are free from obstructions for optimal night vision.
  5. Power on the doorbell and press the button. A blue light indicates sufficient battery. If a red light appears, fully charge the doorbell before use.
  6. Align the doorbell from the top, let it snap into place at the bottom, and push it down until it clicks.
  7. Press firmly on the back panel for 5 seconds to ensure it is securely fixed.

4.1.2 Screw Installation (for stucco, brick, or concrete)

  1. Mount the backplate, ensuring both sides of the doorbell are free from obstructions for optimal night vision.
  2. Mark the screw holes on the wall using the back panel as a template.
  3. Drill the holes and insert the wall plugs.
  4. Screw the flat back panel to the wall.
  5. Power on the doorbell and press the button. A blue light indicates sufficient battery. If a red light appears, fully charge the doorbell before use.
  6. Align the doorbell from the top, let it snap into place at the bottom, and push it down until it clicks.

4.2 Powering the Device

4.2.1 Charging the Battery

Connect the doorbell to a USB charger using the provided cable. A red indicator light means the battery is low. A blue indicator light means the battery is fully charged.

4.2.2 Wired AC Charging

Turn off the circuit breaker in your home. Connect the doorbell's AC cables to the power cables in your house and twist the ends firmly together. Tighten the AC caps. The doorbell can be charged with 8 to 24 V AC.

4.3 App Setup and Network Configuration

Before network access, ensure your phone is connected to your home Wi-Fi network.

4.3.1 Bluetooth Mode

  1. Open the Botslab APP, click the "+" button in the upper right corner of the homepage, tap "Add Device" to select Video Doorbell 2 Pro R811 under the Doorbell category. Alternatively, tap "Scan" and scan the QR code on the doorbell or base station. (Caution: Please scan the QR code instead of the barcode).
  2. Select Bluetooth Mode. Plug in the power cable for the base station and wait until the indicator light blinks green. Then tap "Next".
  3. Press and hold the doorbell's power button for at least 5 seconds (skip if already powered on) until you hear "Welcome to use the Botslab Video Doorbell". Then tap "Next".
  4. Keep your mobile phone near the base station. Tap "Next". (Caution: Please maintain a distance of 2 meters between the device and the base station).
  5. Turn on your phone's Bluetooth.
  6. After the doorbell is scanned, tap "Configure Network".
  7. Enter your Wi-Fi name and password and then tap "Next".
  8. Keep your phone near the device while the device is connecting to the internet, and do not leave this page.
  9. Once connected, you can tap "Start" to use the device.

4.3.2 AP Hotspot Mode

  1. Select AP Hotspot Mode. Plug in the power cable for the base station and wait until the indicator light blinks green. Then tap "Next".
  2. Press and hold the doorbell's power button for at least 5 seconds (skip if already powered on) until you hear "Welcome to use the Botslab Video Doorbell". Then tap "Next".
  3. Keep your mobile phone near the base station. Tap "Next". (Caution: Please maintain a distance of 2 meters between the device and the base station).
  4. Enter your Wi-Fi name and password and then tap "Next".
  5. A window will appear with the device to be used with Botslab; please tap "Connect".
  6. Keep your phone near the device while the device is connecting to the internet, and do not leave this page.
  7. Once connected, you can tap "Start" to use the device.

5. Operating the Doorbell

5.1 Crystal-Clear 5MP Resolution and 360° Panoramic View

The 5MP resolution delivers sharp images, ensuring clear visibility of visitors. The 180° head-to-toe coverage provides a complete view of who is at the door, whether it's a child or a package. You can choose from four different viewing modes (Panoramic, VR, Horizontal Correction, Vertical Correction) to effortlessly monitor every angle in front of the door.

6.1 Battery Life

The doorbell is equipped with a powerful 5200 mAh battery, offering up to 150 days of continuous monitoring without frequent recharging. It can also be permanently connected to AC power for continuous operation.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Connectivity Issues

The doorbell supports 2.4 GHz WLAN. Ensure your Wi-Fi network is stable and within range of the base station for optimal performance. If you experience connection drops, try repositioning the base station closer to your router or the doorbell.

7.2 False Alarms

The combination of Radar, PIR, and AI detection is designed to minimize false alarms. If you are receiving excessive alerts, review the detection zone settings in the Botslab app. Adjust sensitivity levels or define specific areas to monitor to reduce unwanted notifications.

7.3 Continuous Ringing

The video doorbell operates with 8 to 24 V. The current can be set in the app up to 100 mA. The default setting is 50 mA. If your doorbell rings continuously, reduce the current in the app settings to ensure normal operation.
