6. Operating Your RC Car
6.1 Basic Controls
- Throttle Trigger: Pull the trigger to accelerate forward. Push the trigger to brake, then push again for reverse.
- Steering Wheel: Turn the wheel left or right to steer the car.
- Speed Switch: The remote control typically has a switch for speed modes (e.g., 70% and 100%). Start with 70% for beginners or indoor use, and switch to 100% for maximum speed in open areas.
- Trim Adjustments: Use the steering trim and throttle trim dials on the remote to fine-tune the car's straight-line tracking and neutral throttle position.
6.2 Driving Tips
- Surface Selection: The Fenamx 14303 performs well on asphalt, concrete, and packed dirt. Avoid deep water, mud, or extremely rough terrain to prevent damage.
- Drifting: Install the plastic drift tires for optimal drifting performance. Practice smooth throttle and steering inputs to initiate and maintain drifts.
- LED Lights: The car features functional headlights, taillights, turn signals (when steering), and reverse lights (when reversing). These enhance realism and visibility in low-light conditions.
- Gyro Sensitivity: The built-in gyro assists with stability. If steering feels too limited or the car is difficult to control, you may need to adjust the gyro gain on the remote control. Refer to the remote control's specific instructions for gyro adjustment.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will extend the life and performance of your RC car.
- Cleaning: After each use, especially when driving on dusty or dirty surfaces, clean the car using a soft brush or compressed air to remove debris from the chassis, suspension, and motor area. The car includes a polycarbonate dust cover for protection.
- Battery Care:
- Always disconnect the battery from the car when not in use.
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Do not fully discharge Li-ion batteries. It is best to store them at a partial charge (around 50%).
- Component Inspection: Periodically check the following:
- Shocks: Ensure the oil-filled shocks are not leaking and provide smooth damping.
- Drivetrain: Inspect the metal differentials and driveshafts for any signs of wear or damage.
- Bearings: Check for smooth rotation of wheels and other moving parts. Replace worn bearings as needed.
- Screws: Ensure all screws are tight, especially after impacts.
- Motor Cooling: The brushless motor is equipped with an aluminum radiator and fan. Ensure the fan is clear of obstructions for effective cooling.
