5. Setup

5.1. Charging the Battery

The BSIDE O2 is equipped with a 3000mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery. Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the device.

  1. Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the charging port on the device.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
  3. The charging indicator on the device will show the charging status. Once fully charged, the indicator will change or turn off.

5.2. Connecting Probes

To perform measurements, connect the oscilloscope probes to the input channels (OSC 1, OSC 2) at the top of the device.

  1. Align the BNC connector of the oscilloscope probe with the input port (OSC 1 or OSC 2).
  2. Push the connector in and twist clockwise to secure it.
  3. Ensure the probe is firmly connected before making any measurements.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off

Press and hold the power button located on the side of the device to turn it on or off.

6.2. Oscilloscope Function

The device defaults to oscilloscope mode upon startup. Use the touch screen and function wheel for navigation and parameter adjustments.

  • Channel Selection: Tap 'CH1' or 'CH2' on the screen to enable/disable channels.
  • Vertical Sensitivity (Volts/Div): Adjust the vertical scale using the touch screen controls or the function wheel.
  • Horizontal Time Base (Sec/Div): Adjust the horizontal scale to view different time durations of the waveform.
  • Trigger Settings: Configure trigger mode, level, and slope to stabilize the waveform display.
  • Measurement Parameters: The screen displays various waveform parameters such as Vpp, Vmax, Vmin, Vavg, RMS, Duty Cycle, and Frequency.
  • AUTO Button: Press 'AUTO' for automatic waveform scaling and triggering.

6.3. DDS Signal Generator Function

The integrated DDS signal generator can produce various test signals.

  1. Access the signal generator function through the main menu or a dedicated button/option.
  2. Select the desired waveform type: sine wave, square wave, triangle wave, full wave, half wave, sawtooth wave, or DC wave.
  3. Adjust the frequency (0-2MHz) and output amplitude (0.1-3V) using the touch screen or function wheel.
  4. For square waves, the duty cycle can be adjusted from 1% to 99%.

6.4. Data Storage and Export

The device allows for saving measurement data and exporting it to a computer.

  1. Use the on-screen options to save waveform data or screenshots.
  2. Connect the device to a computer using the provided USB-C cable.
  3. The device will appear as a removable storage device. You can then copy the saved data files to your computer.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your BSIDE O2 oscilloscope.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild detergent can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
