1. Introduction

3. Setup and Installation

The Zechuan Solar Bug Zapper offers versatile installation options:

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the device. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the charging port on the side of the unit. The battery charges in 4-6 hours, and the indicator light will change from red to green when fully charged. A single charge can last approximately 12 hours.

3.2 Ground Installation

  1. Attach the ground stakes to the designated holes at the bottom of the zapper unit.
  2. Insert the assembled unit firmly into the ground in your desired location.
  3. Ensure the adjustable solar panel is positioned for optimal sunlight exposure.

3.3 Hanging Installation

  1. Attach the 2.6ft hanging chain to the top loops of the zapper unit.
  2. Hang the unit from a secure hook or support structure.
  3. If placing the zapper in a shaded area, use the 10ft solar panel extension cable to position the solar panel in direct sunlight.

3.4 Tabletop Placement

The unit can also be placed directly on a flat surface without stakes or hanging. Ensure it is stable and the solar panel has access to sunlight if using automatic mode.

4. Operating Modes

The bug zapper features a power switch with three operating modes:

  • AUTO: In this mode, the device charges its battery during daylight hours. The insect-killing light automatically turns off during the day and turns on at night. Ensure the solar panel is properly connected for charging.
  • OFF: The unit is powered off.
  • ON: The insect-killing light is continuously on, regardless of light conditions.

For optimal mosquito-killing effectiveness, minimize surrounding light during use, especially in automatic mode at night.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance of your bug zapper.

  1. Ensure Power is OFF: Always turn off the device and unplug any charging cables before cleaning.
  2. Cleaning the Collection Tray: The bottom part of the device is designed to collect insects. It can be cleaned with water.
  3. Cleaning the Electric Grid: If the internal electric grid accumulates dust or insects, use the provided small brush to clean it. The protective cage can be easily removed for access.
