Setup
1. Initial Charging
Before first use, expose the watch to bright light (natural or artificial) for several hours to ensure it is fully charged. The watch will not operate correctly if it is not sufficiently charged.
- For optimal charging, place the watch near a window or under a fluorescent lamp.
- Avoid placing the watch too close to incandescent lamps, as excessive heat may damage the watch.
- A fully charged watch can operate for approximately 6 months in total darkness.
2. Setting the Time and Date
- Pull out the crown to the second click position (time setting position). The second hand will stop.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To set the date, advance the time past midnight until the date changes.
- Push the crown back to the normal position. The second hand will resume movement.
Note: To set the date, pull the crown out to the first click position and rotate it. Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, as this may cause damage to the date mechanism.
3. Adjusting the Bracelet
The stainless steel bracelet may require adjustment for a comfortable fit. It is recommended to have this adjustment performed by a qualified jeweler or Citizen service center to prevent damage to the bracelet or clasp.
Operating Instructions
Timekeeping
Your Eco-Drive watch is designed for accurate timekeeping. The three hands (hour, minute, second) display the current time. The date window displays the current day of the month.
Power Reserve Indicator (if applicable)
This model does not feature a dedicated power reserve indicator. However, if the second hand begins to move in two-second intervals, it indicates that the watch is running low on power and requires charging.
Maintenance
Charging Guidelines
- Regular exposure to light is crucial for maintaining optimal charge.
- Avoid prolonged storage in dark places. If stored in darkness, ensure it is fully charged before storage.
- The watch is designed to prevent overcharging.
Cleaning
Wipe the watch case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth regularly to remove dirt and moisture. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Avoid using chemical cleaners or solvents.
Water Resistance
This watch is water resistant to 100 meters (10 ATM). This rating makes it suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not for scuba diving. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.
- Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.
- After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly.
Troubleshooting
- Watch has stopped or is running irregularly: The watch may not be sufficiently charged. Expose it to bright light for an extended period.
- Second hand moves in two-second intervals: This is a low charge warning. Recharge the watch immediately.
- Time or date is incorrect: Refer to the "Setting the Time and Date" section to adjust.
- Condensation inside the crystal: This may indicate a loss of water resistance. Contact a Citizen service center for inspection.
