Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport if needed.
- Placement: Place the griddle on a stable, heat-resistant, and level surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance from walls and other appliances for proper ventilation. This griddle is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
- Grease Management System: Locate the clean-catch low-profile rear grease management system. Ensure the grease cup is properly installed at the rear opening of the griddle. This cup collects excess grease during cooking and is designed for easy removal and cleaning.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe down the griddle surface and accessories with a damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. The non-stick ceramic titanium coating does not require seasoning like traditional cast iron griddles.
- Power Connection: Plug the griddle's power cord into a standard 120V AC grounded electrical outlet.
Operating Instructions
Temperature Control
The Blackstone E-Series griddle features two EZ-Touch control dials, each controlling an independent cooking zone. The large LCD display shows the set temperature and current surface temperature for each zone.

- Power On: Press the power button on each control dial to turn on the respective cooking zone.
- Set Temperature: Rotate the control dial clockwise to increase the desired temperature and counter-clockwise to decrease it. The LCD display will show the set temperature.
- Preheating: Allow the griddle to preheat to the desired temperature. The LCD display will show the current surface temperature rising until it reaches the set temperature. Preheating typically takes 5-10 minutes depending on the desired temperature.
- Cooking: Once the griddle reaches the set temperature, you can begin cooking. The two independent zones allow for cooking different foods at different temperatures simultaneously.
- Lid Use: The griddle hood can be rotated or removed. It helps trap heat for even cooking and steaming, and also provides protection when not in use.

- Cool Down: Always allow the griddle to cool completely before cleaning.
- Scrape Residue: Use the provided nylon scraper to gently push any food residue or excess grease into the rear grease management opening.
- Wipe Clean: Wipe the griddle surface with a damp cloth and mild dish soap. For stubborn spots, a non-abrasive sponge can be used. Avoid abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as these can damage the non-stick coating.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Griddle does not turn on or heat up. | Not plugged in; power outlet issue; circuit breaker tripped; unit malfunction. | Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working 120V AC grounded outlet. Check your household circuit breaker. Try a different outlet. If the issue persists, contact customer support. |
| Griddle does not reach desired cooking temperature or shuts down prematurely. | Insufficient power supply (e.g., shared circuit); unit overheating protection; defective unit. | Ensure the griddle is on a dedicated circuit if possible, or that other high-wattage appliances are not in use on the same circuit. Allow the unit to cool down completely. If the problem is consistent and the unit repeatedly shuts down at lower temperatures (e.g., 250°F), it may indicate a defect. Contact customer support. |
| Food sticks to the griddle surface. | Insufficient oil/fat; griddle not preheated properly; damaged non-stick coating. | Always use a small amount of cooking oil or fat when cooking. Ensure the griddle is fully preheated to the desired temperature before adding food. Avoid using metal utensils or abrasive cleaners that can scratch the non-stick surface. Use only the provided nylon accessories. |
| Grease overflow from the management system. | Grease cup is full or improperly installed. | Regularly check and empty the grease cup, especially during extended cooking sessions. Ensure the grease cup is securely and correctly positioned in its slot. |
