3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection

  1. Carefully remove the safe from its packaging.
  2. Inspect the safe for any signs of damage during transit. If damaged, contact customer support immediately.
  3. Verify all included components are present: Safe box (x1), Emergency keys (x2), User manual (x1), Expansion bolts (x4), External battery box (x1).

3.2 Battery Installation (for Digital Keypad)

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the inside of the safe door or on the keypad unit.
  2. Insert 4 AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.3 Securing the Safe (Optional but Recommended)

For enhanced security, the safe can be bolted to a wall or floor using the provided expansion bolts. This prevents unauthorized removal of the safe.

  1. Choose a suitable location for the safe, ensuring it is level and stable.
  2. Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes at the back or bottom of the safe onto the wall or floor.
  3. Drill holes at the marked points using an appropriate drill bit for your wall/floor material.
  4. Align the safe with the drilled holes and insert the expansion bolts.
  5. Tighten the bolts securely to anchor the safe in place.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Opening the Safe for the First Time

Upon first use, or if the batteries are dead, you will need to use the emergency key.

  1. Locate the emergency keyhole, usually concealed under a small cover near the digital keypad.
  2. Insert one of the emergency keys and turn it counter-clockwise.
  3. Simultaneously turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.

4.2 Setting/Changing Your Personal Code

  1. With the safe door open, press the red reset button located on the inside of the door (usually near the hinges). The keypad will beep, and the indicator light will flash.
  2. Enter your desired personal code (3-8 digits) on the digital keypad.
  3. Press the '#' or 'PROCEED' button to confirm. The indicator light will flash green, confirming the new code is set.
  4. Test the new code with the door open to ensure it works correctly before closing the safe.

4.3 Daily Operation (Using Digital Keypad)

  1. To open: Enter your personal code on the digital keypad. The indicator light will turn green.
  2. Turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.
  3. To close: Close the safe door and turn the knob counter-clockwise until the bolts are fully extended and the door is securely locked.

4.4 Emergency Access (External Battery Box)

If the internal batteries run out and you cannot open the safe with your code, use the external battery box:

  1. Connect the external battery box to the emergency power port on the keypad unit.
  2. Enter your personal code on the digital keypad.
  3. Turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.

4.5 Alarm System and Silent Mode

  • Password Error Alarm: If an incorrect password is entered 3 times consecutively, the system will lock for 20 seconds and an alarm will sound. If 6 consecutive incorrect entries occur, it will lock for 5 minutes.
  • Silent Mode: To activate silent mode (mute keypad beeps), refer to the specific instructions in the included user manual.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior and interior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries annually or when the low battery indicator light appears on the keypad to ensure continuous operation. Always use new, high-quality AA batteries.
  • Key Storage: Store emergency keys in a secure location away from the safe, but easily accessible in case of emergency or battery failure. Do not store them inside the safe.
