Important Note: Your car must be factory-installed with wired CarPlay or Android Auto for this adapter to function.

2. Setup

1. Connect the Adapter: Plug the OTTOCAST MX adapter into your car's wired USB port (typically the one used for wired CarPlay or Android Auto). Use the provided USB-C to USB-A or USB-C to USB-C cable as needed.
2. Initial Pairing: On your smartphone, enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Search for the adapter's Bluetooth name (e.g., "AdapterMX-XXXX") and pair with it.
3. Automatic Connection: After the initial setup, your phone should automatically connect to the adapter when you start your car.

3. Operating Instructions

Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto

Once connected, the adapter enables wireless CarPlay or Android Auto, mirroring your phone's interface directly onto your car's infotainment screen. You can navigate, play music, make calls, and use compatible apps just as you would with a wired connection.

Retaining Original Car Controls

Note: Due to copyright restrictions, streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ are not supported for mirroring via AirPlay.

Smart Button for Quick Mode Switching

The adapter features a smart button for convenient mode switching:

• Press once: Disconnects the current phone, allowing another phone to connect. Ensure the Bluetooth status of the originally connected phone is off.
• Press twice: Enters AirPlay mode (if you have an iPhone and wired CarPlay).

4. Maintenance

The OTTOCAST MX adapter supports Over-The-Air (OTA) updates. Regularly check for and install available updates to ensure optimal performance, compatibility, and access to the latest features. Connect the adapter to a stable internet connection for updates.

• Compatibility: The adapter is not compatible with BMW/Tesla vehicles or Sony Aftermarket Head-units. It also does not support Huawei, Xiaomi, and Redmi phones.
