3. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is critical for optimal performance. The CEL-FI GO G41 is designed for DIY installation, but professional assistance can be sought if needed.

  1. Aim Outdoor Antenna: Identify the location with the strongest existing cellular signal outside your home or building. Mount the outdoor antenna (directional or parabolic) in this location, typically on a roof or pole, and aim it towards the nearest cell tower.
  2. Mount CEL-FI GO G41 Unit: Install the CEL-FI GO G41 amplifier unit indoors in a central location, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure it is accessible for power connection and cable routing.
  3. Install Indoor Antenna(s): Place the indoor antenna(s) (panel or dome) in areas where signal improvement is desired. Ensure sufficient separation between the indoor and outdoor antennas to prevent oscillation.
  4. Connect Cables: Connect the outdoor antenna to the "Donor" port on the GO G41 unit and the indoor antenna(s) to the "Server" port(s) using the provided coaxial cables.
  5. Power On: Connect the power supply to the GO G41 unit and plug it into an electrical outlet. The unit will power on and begin its initialization sequence.
  6. Use CEL-FI WAVE App: Download the CEL-FI WAVE app from your smartphone's app store. This app provides real-time system status, signal strength readings, and allows for fine-tuning of antenna positioning for optimal performance.

5. Maintenance

The CEL-FI GO G41 is designed for minimal maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure longevity and optimal performance:

  • Keep Clean: Periodically wipe the amplifier unit and indoor antennas with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the amplifier unit is kept in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from extreme temperatures and direct moisture.
  • Cable Integrity: Periodically inspect all coaxial cables for any signs of damage or wear. Ensure connections remain secure.
  • Outdoor Antenna: Check the outdoor antenna periodically for any obstructions (e.g., tree branches, debris) or signs of weather damage. Ensure it remains securely mounted and properly aimed.

6. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your CEL-FI GO G41, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

  • No Signal Improvement / Dropped Calls:
    • Verify all cables are securely connected to the correct ports on the amplifier and antennas.
    • Check the power supply connection and ensure the amplifier unit is powered on (indicator lights should be active).
    • Use the CEL-FI WAVE app to check the system status and signal readings. The app can guide you in optimizing antenna placement.
    • Ensure adequate separation between the outdoor and indoor antennas to prevent oscillation. Increase separation if the app indicates oscillation.
    • Confirm the outdoor antenna is aimed correctly towards the strongest available cellular signal.
  • Slow Data Speeds:
    • Check the CEL-FI WAVE app for signal quality readings. A "Fair" or "Poor" reading may indicate suboptimal antenna placement.
    • Ensure your phone's Wi-Fi is turned off to confirm you are using the boosted cellular signal.
    • Verify your carrier's 4G or 5G network is available in your area and that your device supports it.
  • No Power:
    • Check the power adapter and wall outlet. Try plugging another device into the outlet to confirm it is functional.
    • Ensure the power cable is fully inserted into the amplifier unit.
