Setup
Battery Installation
The CONTIA 620A Multimeter requires two (2) 1.5V AAA batteries for operation (batteries not included). To install the batteries:
- Locate the battery cover on the back of the multimeter (refer to Figure 1).
- Use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment.
- Insert two 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw.
Note: Remove batteries if the meter is not used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

Button Functions
- Power Button (⏻):
- Single click: Power on the device.
- Long press: Power off the device.
- Hold/Backlight Button (H ☀️):
- Single click: Data hold function (freezes the current reading on the display).
- Long press: Activates/deactivates the backlight for the display.
- NCV/Flashlight Button (NCV 🔦):
- Single click: Enters NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) mode.
- Long press: Turns the built-in flashlight on/off.
- Function Switching Button (SEL):
- Single click: Switches between different measurement functions within a mode (e.g., AC/DC, Resistance/Continuity).
General Measurement Steps
- Turn on the multimeter by single-clicking the Power button.
- Connect the test leads to the appropriate input jacks (COM and VΩmA for most measurements, 10A for high current).
- Select the desired measurement function using the SEL button. The meter will automatically select the range.
- Apply the test probes to the circuit or component to be measured.
- Read the measurement value on the LCD display.
- After use, disconnect the test leads and long-press the Power button to turn off the meter. The meter will also automatically shut down after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe the meter's casing with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Ensure the meter is off and disconnected from any circuits before cleaning.
Calibration
The instrument specifies one year as a calibration cycle. It shall be re-calibrated under 18~28°C, with relative humidity less than 75%. For professional calibration services, please contact CONTIA customer support.
Battery Replacement
Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section for instructions.
Troubleshooting
