3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the helmet from its packaging. Inspect the helmet thoroughly for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. Do not use the helmet if any damage is observed.

3.2 Visor Adjustment

The helmet's visor can be adjusted to your preferred position for optimal visibility and sun protection. To adjust, locate the side screws on the visor, loosen them slightly, position the visor as desired, and then securely retighten the screws. Ensure the visor is firmly in place before riding.

3.3 Cheek Pad Installation/Removal

The Magnefusion magnetic cheek pads are designed for easy removal and installation, facilitating cleaning or replacement. To remove, gently pull the pads away from the helmet shell. To reattach, align the magnets on the pads with their corresponding points inside the helmet and press firmly until they click into place.

4. Operating the Helmet

4.1 Wearing the Helmet

Place the helmet on your head, ensuring it fits snugly and comfortably without excessive pressure points. The helmet should not move freely when you shake your head. A proper fit is crucial for safety and comfort.

4.2 Strap Fastening

Secure the chin strap using the Magnefusion magnetic strap keeper. Ensure the strap is tightened sufficiently to prevent the helmet from coming off in the event of an impact, but not so tight as to cause discomfort or restrict breathing. The magnetic keeper provides a quick and secure closure.

4.3 Ventilation Control

The Moto-9S Flex Helmet is equipped with multiple ventilation ports. These vents can be opened or closed to regulate airflow through the helmet, allowing you to adjust for varying riding conditions and personal comfort preferences.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Shell

To clean the exterior shell of your helmet, use a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Gently wipe the surface. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the helmet's finish and structural integrity.

5.2 Liner Care

The X-Static XT2 removable liner can be detached for washing. Refer to the care instructions label on the liner for specific washing guidelines. Typically, hand washing with mild soap and cold water is recommended. Allow the liner to air dry completely before reinstalling it into the helmet.

5.3 Visor Cleaning

Clean the visor with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use window cleaners, abrasive pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can scratch or damage the visor's coating and clarity.

5.4 Storage

Store your helmet in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and sources of heat. Using a helmet bag can help protect it from dust and scratches when not in use.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Helmet Feels Too Tight or Loose

Ensure you have selected the correct helmet size. While the Flex Technology liner adapts to various head shapes, an incorrect base size will compromise both safety and comfort. Refer to the BELL sizing guide for proper measurement and fit. If the helmet is too loose, it may shift during riding; if too tight, it can cause discomfort and headaches.

6.2 Excessive Wind Noise

Check that all ventilation ports are properly closed if you desire reduced airflow and noise. Ensure the visor is fully closed and securely sealed against the helmet shell. Improperly sealed visors or open vents can contribute to increased wind noise.

6.3 Difficulty Removing Cheek Pads

The Magnefusion magnetic cheek pads are held in place by strong magnets. When removing them, apply firm, even pressure to pull them directly away from the helmet shell. Avoid twisting or prying, which could damage the pads or the helmet's interior.
