2. Setup
2.1 Unpacking and Placement
Carefully unpack the Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ machine and all its components. Place the machine on a clean, stable, and level surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the machine for proper ventilation and access to the water tank.
2.2 Filling the Water Tank
The machine features a removable 0.75-liter water tank located on the side for easy access. Remove the water tank, fill it with fresh drinking water, and securely place it back into position on the machine.

2.3 Initial Rinse
Before first use, or after a period of inactivity, perform an initial rinse cycle. Fill the water tank, place an empty cup under the coffee outlet, and press the brew button without inserting a capsule. This cleans the internal system and prepares the machine for brewing.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Power On and Heat Up
Plug the machine into a power outlet. Press the brew button to turn on the machine. The indicator light will blink during the 30-second heat-up period. It will become steady when the machine is ready for brewing.

3.2 Inserting a Capsule
Lift the lever to open the machine head. Insert a Nespresso Vertuo capsule with the dome side down. The machine automatically reads the barcode on each capsule to adjust brewing parameters for the optimal coffee or espresso.

3.3 Brewing Coffee or Espresso
Close the machine head by pushing the lever down until it locks. Place your desired cup under the coffee outlet. Press the brew button once to start brewing. The machine will automatically dispense the correct amount of water based on the capsule's barcode. For a double shot of espresso, press the brew button twice quickly.

3.4 Adjustable Drip Tray
The drip tray is adjustable to accommodate various cup sizes. Raise or lower the drip tray as needed to fit your cup and minimize splashing.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and taste. The Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ is not dishwasher safe. Clean the water tank, drip tray, and used capsule container with warm water and a mild detergent. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
4.2 Descaling
The machine features a descaling alert to indicate when descaling is necessary. Follow the descaling instructions provided in the full user manual or on the Nespresso website to remove mineral buildup and maintain machine efficiency.
4.3 Capsule Recycling
Nespresso Vertuo capsules are made from aluminum and are fully recyclable. Collect used capsules in the provided recycling bag and return them through Nespresso's free recycling program.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 No Coffee Flow
If no coffee flows, check if the water tank is filled correctly and securely placed. Ensure a capsule is properly inserted and the machine head is locked. Perform a rinse cycle to clear any blockages.
5.2 Descaling Alert
If the descaling alert is active, perform a descaling cycle as soon as possible to prevent mineral buildup from affecting machine performance and coffee quality.
5.3 Leaking
If the machine is leaking, ensure the water tank is correctly positioned and not damaged. Check the drip tray for proper placement. If leaking persists, contact Nespresso Customer Service.
