2. Safety Information

4. Assembly and Setup

The HITWAY BK20 comes partially assembled. Follow these steps for final setup:

4.1 Unfolding the Bike

  1. Place the folded bike on a stable surface.
  2. Release the frame folding latch, typically located in the middle of the main frame tube. Carefully unfold the frame until it locks into place. Ensure the latch is securely fastened.
  3. Raise the handlebar stem and secure it with its quick-release lever.
  4. Insert the seat post into the frame and adjust to your desired height, then secure with the quick-release lever.

4.2 Pedal Installation

The pedals are marked 'L' (left) and 'R' (right). Thread the 'R' pedal clockwise into the right crank arm and the 'L' pedal counter-clockwise into the left crank arm. Tighten firmly with a wrench.

4.3 Battery Charging and Installation

Before first use, fully charge the battery. The battery is removable for convenient charging.

  • Locate the charging port on the battery.
  • Connect the charger to the battery, then plug the charger into a power outlet.
  • The indicator light on the charger will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged). Charging time is approximately 5-6 hours.
  • Once charged, disconnect the charger. Insert the battery into its compartment on the bike and ensure it is securely locked.

4.4 Tire Inflation

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

Press and hold the power button on the handlebar-mounted LCD display to turn the bike's electrical system on or off.

5.2 Multi-Function LCD Display

The display shows essential riding information:

  • Speed: Current riding speed.
  • Mileage: Total distance traveled.
  • Battery Level: Remaining battery charge.
  • Assist Level: Current pedal assist level (0-3).

5.3 Riding Modes

The HITWAY BK20 offers two primary riding modes:

  • Traditional Bicycle Mode: Ride the bike like a standard bicycle, using pedal power only.
  • Electric Assist Mode (Pedal Assist): The motor provides assistance as you pedal. Adjust the assist level (1-3) using the '+' and '-' buttons on the display. Level 1 provides minimal assistance, while Level 3 provides maximum assistance.
  • Boost Mode: This mode allows for easier uphill riding.

5.4 Gear Shifting

The bike is equipped with a 7-speed transmission system. Use the gear shifter on the handlebar to change gears according to terrain and desired speed. Lower gears are for climbing, higher gears for flat terrain and speed.

5.5 Braking System

The HITWAY BK20 features front and rear disc brakes for reliable stopping power. Squeeze the brake levers on the handlebars to engage the brakes. Apply both brakes simultaneously for balanced stopping. Ensure brakes are functioning correctly before each ride.

5.6 Folding the Bike

To fold the bike for storage or transport:
