  • HDMI IN (PC2): Connects to your desktop computer for video input.

4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your Anker KVM Switch:

  1. Connect Your Monitor: Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port on the KVM switch and the other end to the HDMI input on your monitor.
  2. Connect PC1 (Laptop): Use the included 3.3 ft USB-C to USB-C cable. Connect one end to the Full-function USB-C (PC1) port on the KVM switch and the other end to a full-function USB-C port on your laptop. Important: Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode and Power Delivery.
  3. Connect PC2 (Desktop):
    • Video: Use the included 4.9 ft HDMI cable. Connect one end to the HDMI IN (PC2) port on the KVM switch and the other end to the HDMI output on your desktop computer.
    • Data: Use the included 4.9 ft USB-A to USB-C cable. Connect the USB-C end to the USB-C 3.0 (5Gbps) port on the KVM switch and the USB-A end to a USB-A port on your desktop computer.
  4. Connect Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, and other USB devices to the available USB-A 3.0 and USB-A 2.0 ports on the KVM switch.
  5. Connect Remote Button: Plug the magnetic remote button into the dedicated remote control port on the KVM switch. Position the remote button conveniently on your desk.
  6. Power the KVM Switch: Connect a 100W Power Delivery charger (not included) to the PD-IN (100W) port on the KVM switch. This powers the KVM switch and provides up to 85W charging to PC1 (laptop). Note: Only PC1 (laptop) receives power delivery from the KVM switch.

5. Operating Instructions

Switching Between Computers:

You can switch between PC1 and PC2 using either the main switch button on the KVM unit or the magnetic remote button.

  • Press the main switch button on the KVM switch.
  • Press the magnetic remote button.

The LED indicator on both the KVM switch and the remote button will change color to show which computer is currently active (Blue for PC1, Orange for PC2).

Important Notes:

  • Switching between computers may take approximately 5-10 seconds as the operating system re-detects the connected devices.
  • When switching to a MacBook, ensure the MacBook is awake from sleep mode before attempting to switch to prevent display issues.

PC1 (Laptop) Requirements:

PC1 must be a USB-C device with a fully functional USB-C port that supports:

  • Thunderbolt 3/4

Examples of compatible devices include Dell XPS, Lenovo, iMac, MacBook, iPad, and Steam Deck.

PC2 (Desktop) Requirements:

PC2 must be a desktop computer with:

  • A standard USB-A port for data connection.
  • An HDMI port for video connection.

Important Compatibility Notes:

  • This KVM Switch is designed for one laptop and one desktop computer. It is NOT compatible with two USB-C laptops.
  • Ensure your monitor has an HDMI port. The use of HDMI to Thunderbolt or DisplayPort adapters is not recommended for optimal performance.
  • If using a MacBook and connecting dual monitors with different displays, this hub is not recommended as the displays on both external monitors will be identical.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Anker KVM Switch, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Laptop (PC1) is not charging or charging slowly.
  • Ensure a 100W Power Delivery charger is connected to the KVM's PD-IN port.
  • Verify that your laptop's USB-C port supports Power Delivery.
  • Check the USB-C to USB-C cable for PC1; it must support Power Delivery.
Switching takes a long time (more than 10 seconds).
  • This is normal behavior as the operating system re-initializes devices.
  • Ensure all drivers for your monitor and peripherals are up to date on both computers.
4K@60Hz is not achieved.
  • Ensure your monitor and both computers support 4K@60Hz output.
  • Verify that the HDMI cables used are rated for 4K@60Hz.
  • Check display settings on your computer to ensure 4K@60Hz is selected.
