Installation Instructions
The Waterdrop WD-F19C refrigerator water filter is designed for easy, tool-free installation. Follow these steps to replace your old filter with the new one:
- Locate your refrigerator's water filter compartment. This is typically found inside the refrigerator, often in the upper right corner or in the base grille.
- Twist the old filter counter-clockwise to unlock it, then pull it straight out. Some water may drip, so have a towel ready.
- Remove the protective cap from the new Waterdrop WD-F19C filter.
- Insert the new filter into the housing, aligning the arrow on the filter with the arrow on the filter housing.
- Push the filter firmly into the housing and twist it clockwise until it locks into place. You should feel a click or resistance.
- Flush the new filter by dispensing approximately 2-3 gallons of water through the refrigerator's dispenser. This removes air and carbon fines from the system.
- Reset the 'Replace Water Filter' indicator light on your refrigerator, if applicable. Refer to the 'Troubleshooting' section for specific instructions.

Operating Principles and Filtration
The Waterdrop WD-F19C filter utilizes an advanced Sri Lankan coconut shell carbon block for effective filtration. This material offers a larger surface area and more micropores compared to traditional charcoal filters, enhancing its ability to capture impurities.
The filtration process efficiently reduces various substances from your drinking water, including chlorine, taste, odor, large particles, suspended solids, PFOA, PFOS, and sediment. While these impurities are reduced, beneficial minerals in your water are retained. The filter's design also ensures a good fit, preventing leakages and maintaining a high flow rate for consistent water dispensing.

Maintenance and Filter Replacement
For optimal performance and water quality, it is recommended to replace your Waterdrop WD-F19C filter every 6 months or after filtering 300 gallons of water, whichever comes first. The filter is shipped with complimentary month install stickers to help you track its service life.
Resetting the Filter Indicator Light
After replacing the filter, if the 'Replace Water Filter' light on your refrigerator does not automatically reset, you may need to manually reset it. For most compatible GE refrigerators, hold down the 'Water' button for 3 seconds. This action should produce a tone, confirming that the dispenser has been reset and the indicator light is off.

Troubleshooting
Filter Indicator Light Remains On After Replacement
If the 'Replace Water Filter' indicator light on your refrigerator remains illuminated after installing a new Waterdrop WD-F19C filter, it typically requires a manual reset. Please refer to the 'Resetting the Filter Indicator Light' instructions in the Maintenance section above. If the issue persists after attempting the reset, consult your refrigerator's user manual for specific model instructions or contact customer support.
Reduced Water Flow
A reduction in water flow from your dispenser can indicate a clogged filter. If your filter is nearing its 6-month lifespan or 300-gallon capacity, it is likely time for a replacement. Ensure the new filter is properly seated and twisted into place as per the installation instructions.
Water Leakage
If you experience water leakage after installation, ensure the filter is fully inserted and twisted clockwise until it is securely locked. The Waterdrop filter is designed for a good fit to prevent leaks. If leakage continues, remove and re-install the filter carefully. If the problem persists, contact customer support.
