6. Customization with VIA Software
The ATTACK SHARK AKS068 keyboard is VIA programmable, allowing for extensive customization of key functions, lighting, and macros. This open-source software provides a powerful tool to personalize your keyboard experience.
6.1. Downloading and Using VIA
To utilize VIA, you will need to download the software and the specific JSON file for the AKS068 keyboard. The download link for the software and JSON file is: bit.ly/4amBzF8.
Once downloaded, open the VIA software. You may need to enable "Show Design tab" and "Use V2 definitions (deprecated)" in the settings to load the JSON file. Load the AKS068 JSON file to enable full customization options for your keyboard.

7. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your keyboard, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Cleaning: Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps. For deeper cleaning, carefully remove keycaps and wipe the surface with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
- Switch Care: If you frequently swap switches, handle them gently to avoid bending the pins. Ensure switches are properly aligned before insertion.
- Cable Management: Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling on the USB-C cable to prevent damage.
- Storage: When not in use, store the keyboard in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your ATTACK SHARK AKS068 keyboard, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Keyboard Not Responding:
- Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and your computer.
- Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port on your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- VIA Software Not Recognizing Keyboard:
- Ensure you have downloaded the correct VIA software version and the specific JSON file for the AKS068 model from bit.ly/4amBzF8.
- In VIA settings, enable "Show Design tab" and "Use V2 definitions (deprecated)" if prompted, then attempt to load the JSON file.
- Ensure the keyboard is in wired mode and connected directly to the computer.
- Keys Not Registering / Double Typing:
- This may indicate a faulty switch. Since the keyboard is hot-swappable, try replacing the problematic switch with one of the extra switches provided or a new compatible switch.
- Ensure the switch pins are not bent before insertion.
- RGB Backlight Issues:
- Use the FN key combinations (FN + \|, FN + ← / →, FN + DEL, FN + Z / X) to cycle through modes and adjust brightness.
- If specific keycaps do not light up, note that the south-facing LEDs illuminate the area around the switch, not necessarily through the legends of all keycap types. For illuminated legends, specific "shine-through" keycaps designed for south-facing LEDs may be required.
If the issue persists after attempting these steps, please contact ATTACK SHARK customer support for further assistance.
