5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Slide the battery cover open.
  3. Insert two AAA 1.5V dry batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

5.2 Attaching Fixture Heads

  1. Select the appropriate fixture head (e.g., hook, flat head) for your specific measurement task.
  2. Screw the chosen fixture head firmly into the threaded opening at the top or bottom of the force gauge.
  3. Ensure the fixture head is securely attached before applying any force.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Press the Power button (usually marked with a circle and line symbol) to turn the device on or off.

6.2 Unit Selection

Press the UNIT button to cycle through the available measurement units: Newtons (N), Kilograms (kg), Pounds (lb), and Ounces (oz).

6.3 Measurement Modes

The device offers three measurement modes:

6.4 Zeroing the Device

Before taking a measurement, ensure no force is applied to the sensor, then press the ZERO button to reset the display to 0.0.

6.5 Taking a Measurement

  1. Ensure the device is powered on and zeroed.
  2. Select the desired measurement unit and mode.
  3. Apply the force to be measured using the attached fixture head.
  4. Read the force value displayed on the screen.
  5. For Peak or First Peak modes, note the value before clearing for subsequent measurements.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water.

7.2 Storage

When not in use, store the force gauge in its original storage box in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
