The Yale Smart Indoor Alarm Siren comes with 3 Lithium metal batteries pre-mounted. If replacement is needed, ensure to use the specified battery type.

2.3 Mounting the Siren

The siren can be installed using either the self-adhesive method or the provided mounting screws. Choose a location that is central within your home for optimal sound distribution and within range of your Yale Smart Alarm Hub (up to 1 km with Horizon+ technology).

  1. Self-Adhesive Installation: Clean the desired surface thoroughly. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive strips on the back of the siren and firmly press the siren onto the wall.
  2. Screw Installation: Mark the desired mounting points on the wall using the siren as a template. Drill pilot holes if necessary. Secure the siren to the wall using the provided mounting screws.

2.4 Pairing with Yale Smart Alarm System

To integrate the siren with your existing Yale Smart Alarm system, follow the pairing instructions provided within the Yale Home app. This typically involves putting your alarm hub into pairing mode and then activating the siren.

Important Compatibility Note: Some users have reported compatibility issues with older Yale Smart Alarm systems, specifically the Yale IA-320 Sync Smart Home Alarm kit. This siren is designed for the NEW Yale Smart system. Please verify your system's compatibility before attempting to pair.

3. Operation

Once successfully paired with your Yale Smart Alarm system, the indoor siren operates automatically in conjunction with your alarm settings.

3.1 Alarm Activation

When your Yale Smart Alarm system detects an intrusion (e.g., via a motion sensor or door/window contact), the indoor siren will activate. It will emit a loud alarm sound (up to 85 dB) and its integrated LED will flash rapidly.

3.2 Arming and Disarming Tones

The siren provides distinct acoustic tones to indicate when your alarm system is being armed or disarmed. This provides audible confirmation of your system's status.

3.3 Real-time Notifications

In addition to the audible and visual alerts, your Yale Home app will receive instant notifications on your smartphone whenever the alarm is activated or tampered with.

3.4 Tamper Protection

The siren is equipped with tamper detection. If anyone attempts to remove or physically alter the device, the alarm will trigger, and you will receive an immediate notification.

4.1 Battery Replacement

The siren is powered by 3 Lithium metal batteries. When the battery level is low, you will receive a notification via the Yale Home app. To replace the batteries:

  1. Carefully remove the siren from its mounting location.
  2. Open the battery compartment (refer to the quick start guide for specific access).
  3. Remove the old batteries and dispose of them according to local regulations.
  4. Insert three new Lithium metal batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Close the battery compartment and re-mount the siren.

4.2 Cleaning

To clean the siren, gently wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the device.

4.3 System Checks
