2.4 Balancing the Gimbal
Proper balancing is crucial for optimal performance and to prevent motor strain. Follow these steps for precise balancing:
- Unlock the Tilt Axis Lock: Loosen the quick release plate lock. Move the camera forward or backward until it points steadily forward. The tilt axis is balanced when the camera remains steady when tilted up or down by 45°. Lock the Tilt Axis after adjustment.
- Unlock the Roll Axis Lock: Loosen the arm lock knob. Move the arm left or right until the camera is centered. Tighten the arm lock knob. Lock the Roll Axis Lock.
- Unlock the Pan Axis Lock: Loosen the Pan Knob Lock. Hold the gimbal (still turned off) and aim it like a flashlight. Balance the pan axis so that the camera does not tip in any direction, but stays horizontal to the ground. Tighten the arm lock knob. Unlock Tilt and Roll Lock, then you can turn on the well-balanced gimbal.

Note:
- If you install a heavier lens, remember to install the lens holder.
- We do not recommend that the weight of the lens and camera exceed 85% of the maximum compatible weight (2.65 lbs), as they are too heavy to be well balanced.

- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the gimbal body. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the electronic components.
- Storage: When not in use, store the gimbal in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent dust accumulation and physical damage. Ensure the gimbal is in its locked, folded position.
- Battery Care: Charge the battery regularly, even if not in frequent use, to maintain battery health. Avoid fully discharging the battery for extended periods.
- Avoid Extreme Conditions: Do not expose the gimbal to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your FeiyuTech SCORP Mini 2, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Gimbal Not Powering On: Ensure the battery is fully charged. Check the charging cable and adapter for any damage.
- Unstable Footage/Vibrations: Re-check the gimbal balance for your specific camera and lens setup. Ensure all axis locks are fully disengaged before powering on. Verify that the camera and lens weight are within the gimbal's maximum load capacity (2.65 lbs).
- Camera Control Issues: Confirm your camera model is listed in the compatibility tables. Ensure the correct control cable is securely connected between the gimbal and your camera. Update the gimbal firmware and app to the latest versions.
- AI Tracking Not Working: Ensure the AI tracking sensor is unobstructed. Check lighting conditions; very low light or excessive backlight can affect performance. Ensure you are using the correct gesture controls as described in the operating section.
- App Connection Problems: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone. Restart both the gimbal and your smartphone. Reinstall the FeiyuTech apps if necessary.
