Setup
- Unpacking and Placement:
Remove all packaging materials from the robot and the charging dock. Place the charging dock on a level surface against a wall in an open area, ensuring there are no obstacles within 3 feet (1 meter) on either side and 5 feet (1.5 meters) in front of the dock. Plug the power cord into the dock and then into a wall outlet.
- Initial Charge:
Place the robot onto the charging dock. Ensure the charging contacts on the robot align with those on the dock. The robot's indicator lights will illuminate to show it is charging. Allow the robot to fully charge before its first use, which may take several hours.
- Download the SharkClean App:
Download the SharkClean app from your smartphone's app store (available for iOS and Android). Follow the in-app instructions to create an account and connect your robot vacuum to your home Wi-Fi network. This step is crucial for accessing advanced features like home mapping and scheduled cleaning.
- Initial Home Mapping:
Once connected to the app, initiate an Explore Run or a full cleaning cycle. The robot will use its 360° LiDAR vision to create a detailed map of your home. For the most accurate map, ensure all doors are open and clear any temporary obstacles during this initial run. The robot will adapt to everyday changes in your home.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance is essential to keep your Shark RV2300 Matrix Robot Vacuum operating at peak performance. Always turn off the robot and disconnect it from the charging dock before performing any maintenance.
- Emptying the Dust Bin:
Press the dust bin release button and slide out the dust bin. Open the dust bin lid and empty debris into a trash receptacle. Close the lid and reinsert the dust bin until it clicks into place. Empty after each cleaning cycle or as needed.
- Cleaning the Filter:
Remove the filter from the dust bin. Tap the filter clean over a trash can to remove loose dirt and debris. The filter can also be rinsed with water; ensure it is completely dry before reinserting. Replace the filter every 6-12 months, or more frequently depending on usage. The filter type is Cartridge, Cloth, Foam.
- Cleaning the Brushroll:
Flip the robot over and locate the brushroll cover. Open the cover and remove the brushroll. Use the cleaning tool (if included) or scissors to cut away any hair or debris wrapped around the brushroll. Reinstall the brushroll and close the cover securely.
- Cleaning Sensors and Charging Pads:
Use a dry cloth to gently wipe the cliff sensors (located on the bottom of the robot), the bumper sensor, and the charging contacts on both the robot and the charging dock. Keep these areas clean to ensure proper navigation and charging.
- Cleaning Side Brushes:
Periodically check the side brushes for tangled hair or debris. Gently pull them off to clean, and then snap them back into place. Replace worn or damaged side brushes as needed.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Shark RV2300 Matrix Robot Vacuum, refer to the following common solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Robot does not turn on or charge. | Charging contacts are dirty or misaligned. Power cord is not securely plugged in. | Ensure the charging dock is powered. Clean the charging contacts on both the robot and the dock with a dry cloth. Verify the robot is properly seated on the dock. |
| Robot gets stuck or navigates erratically. | Sensors are dirty. Obstacles in the path. Initial map is inaccurate. | Clean all sensors (cliff, bumper) with a dry cloth.
