  2. Align the desired polishing pad (sponge, wool, or sandpaper) with the hook-and-loop backing plate on the polisher.
  3. Press firmly to secure the pad in place. Ensure it is centered and fully attached to prevent wobbling during operation.

5.2. Adjusting Speed

The Protmex polisher offers 6 variable speed settings, ranging from 2800 rpm to 5500 rpm, allowing you to adjust the speed according to your specific task and material.

  • Use lower speeds (1-2) for waxing, spreading compounds, or delicate surfaces.
  • Medium speeds (3-4) are suitable for light polishing and swirl removal.
  • Higher speeds (5-6) can be used for more aggressive polishing or defect correction, but use with caution to avoid paint damage.
  • Adjust the speed using the +/- buttons on the control panel. The current speed setting will be displayed digitally.

5.3. Polishing Technique

The eccentric polishing action helps spread wax evenly and prevents over-polishing or paint wear.

  • Apply a small amount of polishing compound or wax directly to the pad or the surface.
  • Place the pad flat on the surface before turning the polisher on.
  • Move the polisher in a slow, overlapping pattern, maintaining even pressure.
  • Avoid tilting the polisher, as this can create uneven results or damage the surface.
  • Turn the polisher off before lifting it from the surface.
