4. Operation: Performing a Blood Glucose Test

Before testing, ensure you have a lancing device and lancets (not included in this meter-only kit, but essential for obtaining a blood sample).

  1. Prepare Lancing Device: Load a fresh lancet into your lancing device according to its instructions. Adjust the depth setting as needed.
  2. Obtain Blood Sample: Prick the side of your fingertip with the lancing device. Gently squeeze your finger to form a small drop of blood.
  3. Apply Blood Sample: Touch the tip of the test strip to the blood drop. The blood will be drawn into the strip automatically. Do not apply blood to the top of the strip.
  4. Read Results: The meter will count down from 5 seconds and then display your blood glucose result.
  5. Eject Used Strip: Press the strip ejector button on the meter to safely dispose of the used test strip.
