2. Safety Instructions

  • Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or installation tasks.
  • The pump must be completely submerged in water during operation. Running the pump dry will cause severe damage to the motor and void the warranty.
  • Ensure the electrical cable and plug are in good condition and protected from damage. Do not use if the cable is frayed or damaged.
  • This product is not resistant to frost. During winter months or when freezing temperatures are expected, remove the unit from the pond and store it in a frost-free location.
  • Do not use this product in swimming pools or for purposes other than garden pond filtration and water features.
  • Keep children and pets away from the pond area during installation and operation.

4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps for initial setup:

  1. Assemble the Filter Unit: Ensure all filter media (sponges, bio-balls, ceramic rings) are correctly placed inside the filter housing. Secure the housing clips.
  2. Attach Riser Pipe and Nozzle: Connect the telescopic riser pipe to the pump outlet. Select your desired fountain nozzle and attach it to the top of the riser pipe.
  3. Adjust Flow Control: The pump features an individually adjustable flow regulation valve. This allows you to control the water flow for the fountain or divert water to a gargoyle or stream feature. Adjust as needed.
  4. Position the Pump: Place the entire filter unit into your pond. The minimum immersion depth for the filter box is 15 cm. With all riser connections, the maximum immersion depth is 56 cm. Ensure the pump is fully submerged and rests on a stable, level surface to prevent it from drawing in excessive sludge from the pond bottom.
  5. Connect to Power: Once the pump is correctly positioned and fully submerged, connect the power plug to a suitable, weather-protected outdoor electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the pump will begin operating when connected to power. The Biling Pond Filter Kit offers various water spray patterns:

  • Fountain Nozzles: The kit includes three different nozzles to create diverse water patterns. To change the pattern, simply remove the current nozzle and attach another.
  • Flow Adjustment: Use the integrated flow regulation valve to increase or decrease the water flow to the fountain or to divert water to other features like a waterfall or stream.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your filter kit:

  1. Filter Cleaning: Disconnect power. The filter housing features practical clips for quick opening. Remove the filter sponges, bio-balls, and ceramic rings. Clean them thoroughly with pond water (not tap water, to preserve beneficial bacteria) to remove accumulated debris.
  2. Pump Impeller Cleaning: Periodically check the pump impeller for blockages from debris or algae. Remove any obstructions carefully.
  3. Housing Cleaning: Clean the inside of the filter housing to prevent buildup.
  4. Reassembly: Reassemble all components, ensuring the clips are securely fastened.
  5. Winter Storage: Before the first frost, remove the entire unit from the pond, clean it thoroughly, and store it in a dry, frost-free location.
