3. Safety Information and Warnings

Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries are powerful and can be dangerous if not handled correctly. Failure to follow these safety instructions can result in fire, personal injury, and property damage.

3.1 General LiPo Battery Safety

  • Never leave charging batteries unattended. Always charge in an area free of flammable materials.
  • Use only a LiPo compatible charger. Do not use NiMH, NiCd, or lead-acid chargers.
  • Charge in a fireproof location. Use the included LiPo Safe Bag or a fireproof container.
  • Do not overcharge or over-discharge. Overcharging can lead to fire; over-discharging can damage the battery.

3.2 LiPo Safe Bag Usage

The Zeee LiPo Safe Bag is designed to contain a potential LiPo battery fire, reducing damage. It is not a guarantee against fire, but a safety measure.

  • Always place the battery inside the LiPo Safe Bag when charging, storing, or transporting.
  • Ensure the bag is properly sealed during charging and storage.
  • The charge port allows the battery wire to pass through while keeping the bag mostly closed.

4. Setup and Initial Charging

4.1 Initial Inspection

Before first use, carefully inspect each battery for any signs of damage, such as swelling, punctures, or frayed wires. Do not use a damaged battery.

4.2 Charging Procedure

  1. Place the LiPo battery inside the Zeee LiPo Safe Bag.
  2. Connect the battery's balance lead to your LiPo compatible balance charger.
  3. Connect the battery's main EC5 connector to your charger's output.
  4. Set your charger to the correct LiPo charging mode (e.g., 'LiPo Balance Charge').
  5. Set the charging voltage to 22.2V (6S) and the charging current to 1C (10 Amps for a 10000mAh battery).
  6. Start the charging process and monitor the battery and charger closely.
  7. Once charging is complete, disconnect the battery from the charger.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Connecting to Your RC Model

Ensure your RC model is compatible with a 6S (22.2V) LiPo battery and an EC5 connector. Connect the battery's EC5 connector to the corresponding connector on your RC model. Ensure a secure connection.

5.2 Usage Guidelines

  • Do not discharge the battery below 3.0V per cell (18V for a 6S battery). Over-discharging can permanently damage the battery.

6. Maintenance and Storage

6.1 Storage

  • For long-term storage, charge or discharge the battery to a storage voltage of 3.8V-3.85V per cell (22.8V-23.1V for a 6S battery).
  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place, ideally between 5°C and 20°C (41°F and 68°F).
  • Always store batteries inside the LiPo Safe Bag or another fireproof container.
  • Do not store batteries in direct sunlight or in extreme temperatures.

6.2 Disposal

Do not dispose of LiPo batteries in regular household waste. They must be disposed of properly at a hazardous waste facility or a battery recycling center. Fully discharge the battery before disposal.

  • Battery not charging: Ensure all connections are secure, the charger settings are correct for LiPo 6S, and the battery is not damaged.
  • Reduced runtime: Check if the battery is fully charged. Ensure the battery is not over-discharged during use. Battery degradation can occur over time and with improper use.
  • Battery swelling: Immediately discontinue use and charging. Place the battery in a fireproof container (like the LiPo Safe Bag) and dispose of it safely. Swelling indicates internal damage and a high risk of fire.
  • Overheating during use: Reduce the load on the battery or check for short circuits in your RC model. Ensure adequate ventilation.
