2. Important Safety Information

WARNING: Carbon Monoxide Hazard. Generators produce carbon monoxide (CO), a colorless, odorless, and poisonous gas. CO Shield® technology monitors CO accumulation and automatically shuts off the engine if unsafe levels are detected. However, CO Shield® is not a substitute for an indoor carbon monoxide alarm or for safe operation practices. ALWAYS use generators outdoors, far away from occupied buildings, with engine exhaust pointed away from people and structures. DO NOT allow engine exhaust fumes to enter confined areas through windows, doors, vents, or other openings.

WARNING: Electrical Shock Hazard. Never plug in any electrical devices or connect electrical loads while starting or stopping the generator. Always disconnect all electrical loads before starting or stopping the engine to prevent potential power surges or damage to sensitive electronics.

WARNING: Fuel Handling. Gasoline is highly flammable. Always handle fuel in a well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources. Store gasoline in approved containers.

4. Setup Instructions

Before operating your generator, follow these essential setup steps:

  1. Unpack the Generator: Carefully remove the generator and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Add Engine Oil: The generator is shipped without engine oil. Remove the side panel (typically secured with screws) to access the oil fill cap/dipstick. Using the provided funnel, add the entire bottle of 10W-30 engine oil. Ensure the oil level is halfway up the dipstick. Securely replace the dipstick and side panel.
  3. Move Outdoors: Always operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far from windows, doors, and vents.
  4. Connect Fuel Source:
    • For Gasoline Operation: Fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline. Ensure the fuel cap vent is in the "ON" position.
    • For Propane Operation: Connect the provided propane hose and regulator to a standard propane cylinder and to the generator's LP inlet. Open the propane tank valve.

6. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to safely start and operate your generator:

  1. Disconnect All Electrical Loads: Ensure no electrical devices are plugged into the generator before starting or stopping.
  2. Starting the Engine:
    • For Gasoline Operation: Turn the fuel cap vent lever to the "ON" position. Turn the EZ Start Dial to the "CHOKE" position. Pull the recoil cord 3-5 times to start the engine. Once started, turn the EZ Start Dial to the "RUN" (Gasoline) position.
    • For Propane Operation: Open the propane tank valve. Turn the EZ Start Dial to the "CHOKE" position. Pull the recoil cord 3-5 times to prime the engine. Once primed, turn the EZ Start Dial to the "RUN" (Propane) position and pull the recoil again to start the engine.
  3. Economy Mode: The generator features a smart Economy Mode. When running under a reduced electrical load, activate Economy Mode for quieter operation, extended engine life, and better fuel economy. The generator will automatically adjust engine speed based on demand.
  4. Connecting Electrical Loads: Once the generator is running stably, you can plug in your electrical devices. Do not overload the generator. Refer to the specifications for maximum wattage.
  5. Stopping the Engine: Disconnect all electrical loads. Turn the EZ Start Dial to the "OFF" position. If operating on gasoline, turn the fuel cap vent lever to the "OFF" position. If operating on propane, close the propane tank valve.
