Setup and Installation

1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in the packing list are present and undamaged. If any items are missing or damaged, contact Qolsys support immediately.

2. Mounting the Panel

The IQ Panel 4 can be wall-mounted or placed on a table using the IQ Base Table Stand (sold separately). Choose a central location in your home or business that provides optimal Wi-Fi and cellular signal strength, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

3. Power Connection

  1. Connect the power adapter to the DC input port on the back of the IQ Panel 4.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
  3. The panel will power on automatically. Allow a few moments for the system to boot up.

4. Network Configuration (Wi-Fi)

Once the panel is powered on, follow the on-screen prompts to connect to your Wi-Fi network. This is crucial for updates and remote access features.

Operating the IQ Panel 4

1. Arming and Disarming the System

The IQ Panel 4 offers various arming modes:

To arm or disarm, tap the desired mode on the home screen and enter your 4-digit user code.

2. Managing Sensors and Devices

The panel allows you to add, remove, and configure various security and home automation devices (e.g., door/window sensors, motion detectors, smart lights, thermostats).

3. Using the Panel Camera

The 8 Megapixel panel camera supports features like disarm photos, peek-in, and alarm videos.

4. Smart Home Automation

Integrate Z-Wave compatible devices to control lights, locks, thermostats, and more directly from the IQ Panel 4 or the Qolsys app.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Panel

To clean the touchscreen and panel surface, use a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Do not spray cleaners directly onto the panel.

2. Software Updates

The IQ Panel 4 receives over-the-air (OTA) software updates to improve performance, add features, and enhance security. Ensure your panel is connected to Wi-Fi to receive these updates.

3. Battery Backup

The IQ Panel 4 includes a built-in battery backup to ensure continued operation during power outages. The battery is designed to last for several hours. If the battery backup is consistently low or not holding a charge, it may need replacement by a qualified technician.
