Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your solar lights, follow these maintenance tips:
- Clean Solar Panels: Regularly wipe the solar panels with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, and debris. A clean panel ensures efficient charging.
- Clear Obstructions: Ensure no leaves, branches, or other objects are blocking the solar panel from receiving direct sunlight.
- Battery Check: While the batteries are rechargeable, their efficiency may decrease over time. If lights are consistently dim or not working, ensure they have had adequate sunlight exposure.
- Seasonal Storage: If storing the lights for an extended period, ensure they are fully charged and the switch is in the "OFF" position.
Troubleshooting
If your solar lights are not functioning as expected, consider the following:
- Light Not Turning On:
- Verify the ON/OFF switch on the underside of the solar panel is in the "ON" position.
- Ensure the solar panel is clean and free from obstructions.
- Confirm the light is placed in an area that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- Cover the solar panel with your hand to simulate darkness; the light should turn on if charged and the switch is on.
- Short Illumination Time:
- The solar panel may not be receiving enough direct sunlight for a full charge. Relocate the light to a sunnier spot.
- The solar panel may be dirty, reducing charging efficiency. Clean the panel.
- Ambient light sources (e.g., streetlights, porch lights) nearby may cause the light sensor to detect light and prevent the solar light from turning on or staying on.
