Setup and Preparation

Mr. Clean All Purpose Cleaner is 2X concentrated, meaning a small amount goes a long way. Proper dilution is key for optimal performance and to prevent sticky residue, especially on floors.

Dilution Instructions:

  • For Floors/General Dilute Cleaning: Mix ¼ cup of Mr. Clean All Purpose Cleaner per 1 gallon (or ½ bucket) of room-temperature water. Rinsing is usually not necessary for general floor cleaning.
  • For Finished Wood Floors: Use diluted only as per the general dilution instructions. Do not use undiluted on finished wood.
  • For Tough Jobs (Direct Application): For stubborn dirt or grease, pour the cleaner directly onto the tough soil or onto a sponge. Wipe the area thoroughly and then rinse with room-temperature water.

Operating Instructions

Mr. Clean All Purpose Cleaner is suitable for a wide range of surfaces. Always test in an inconspicuous area first, especially on new or delicate surfaces.

Application Methods:

  • Mopping Floors: Prepare the diluted solution as instructed in the "Setup and Preparation" section. Use a mop to clean linoleum, tile, and finished hardwood floors. For finished wood, ensure it is diluted.
  • Cleaning Countertops: For general cleaning, apply the diluted solution with a sponge or cloth. For tough spots, apply directly and wipe clean. Remember to rinse surfaces that come into contact with food.
  • Bathroom Cleaning (Toilets, Sinks, Bathtubs): Apply the cleaner directly or diluted depending on the soil level. Scrub with a brush or sponge, then rinse thoroughly.
  • Outdoor Surfaces (Garbage Cans, Doors): This cleaner can also be used on various outdoor surfaces. Apply as needed and rinse.

Troubleshooting

Most issues with Mr. Clean All Purpose Cleaner relate to improper dilution or application. If you encounter any problems, consider the following:

  • Sticky Residue on Floors: This usually indicates that the cleaner was not sufficiently diluted. Ensure you are using the recommended ¼ cup per gallon of water. For finished wood, always dilute.
  • Streaks on Surfaces: For stainless steel or other shiny surfaces, ensure you wipe the surface dry immediately after cleaning.
  • Irritation: If skin or eye irritation occurs, refer to the "Safety Information" section for first aid steps. Always wear appropriate protective gear if you have sensitive skin.
