1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your JOYING Single Din Car Stereo. This advanced head unit features a 12.3-inch Android 12 touchscreen, 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM, Wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, AM/FM radio, Mirror Link, and Bluetooth connectivity. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure proper functionality and safety.

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Installation Notes

Installation of the JOYING car stereo requires technical knowledge and may involve modifying your vehicle's dashboard. It is strongly recommended to have the unit installed by a qualified professional. You may need additional components such as an installation frame kit, special ISO harness, amplifier adapter, or CANbus decoder depending on your car's specific requirements. This unit does not support factory car GPS antenna, backup rear camera, Bluetooth, USB, or microphone if they are integrated into the factory system. It only supports JOYING accessories for optimal compatibility.

4.2 Removable Screen Adjustment

The screen of the head unit is designed to be movable up and down to accommodate various dashboard configurations and viewing preferences. Each adjustment step is 0.7cm, allowing for a total movement of up to 2.5cm upwards and 2.5cm downwards from the middle position.

4.3 Initial Power On and Fast Boot

Upon inserting the car key and turning on the ignition, the unit will initiate a fast boot sequence, entering the user interface within 2 seconds. The very first boot-up may take approximately 30-40 seconds.

4.4 Connectivity

4.4.1 Built-in 4G Module

The head unit includes a built-in 4G module, allowing direct internet access by inserting a SIM card. Please note that this feature supports internet access only and cannot be used for phone calls or sending SMS messages. Supported FDD-LTE types include B2/B4/B5/B7/B12/B13/B14/B17/B25/B26/B38/B66/B71, and TDD-LTE type B41.

4.4.2 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

Connect your mobile phone to the car radio via USB cable or Bluetooth to utilize Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. This allows you to access your phone's apps on the larger screen for navigation, phone calls, and music playback. The unit has built-in Android Auto and CarPlay modules, eliminating the need for external devices or dongles.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 User Interface Overview

The JOYING car stereo features a deep-optimized user interface (UI) customized for car driving habits, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. The main screen provides quick access to Navigation, Music, Radio, YouTube, and Video applications. Key controls are available at the bottom of the screen, including Home, Back, Navigation, Adjusting Knob, Music, Radio, Phone, and RST (Reset).

5.2 Navigation

The unit features precise GPS engines for accurate positioning, including a dedicated GPS antenna for better satellite signal reception and faster real-time navigation. You can download Google offline maps for use in areas without internet connectivity. Mobile phone map data can also be synchronized via CarPlay/Android Auto.

5.3 Media Playback

5.3.1 Audio Playback

The unit supports various audio formats and features a built-in Digital Signal Processor (DSP) with a 48-band EQ and 20 kinds of sound effects. The subwoofer output can be amplified and adjusted independently. Separate frequency adjustments are available for ultra-bass, bass, mid-bass, mid-sound, mid-treble, treble, and super-treble, allowing for a customized sound experience.

5.3.2 Video Playback and HDMI Output

The unit supports HD 1920x720 resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate. It features an HDMI output, which is a full digital image and sound-sending interface. This allows for uncompressed audio and video signals to be output synchronously to external displays, such as headrest monitors, without manual adjustment. Please note that due to the chassis design, a straight-head HDMI cable is not supported; only angled HDMI cables can be used (HDMI cable not included).

5.4 Day & Night Mode

The display automatically adjusts between Day and Night modes for optimal visibility. Day mode is bright enough for clear viewing even in direct sunlight, while Night mode reduces brightness to prevent dazzling and enhance eye comfort during nighttime driving.

5.5 Gesture Control

The unit supports gesture control for convenient screen operation. You can control the screen by learning gestures such as "slide up," "slide down," "slide left," and "slide right" using two fingers. This feature is designed to be user-friendly for drivers.

5.6 Split-screen Multitasking

The split-screen function allows you to switch and run two applications side-by-side on the screen simultaneously. Currently, only Google-related applications support this split-screen functionality.

5.7 AR Camera (Optional)

During driving, you can freely switch between the front and rear cameras to observe the surrounding environment for safe driving. For optimal compatibility and clearer, more stable images when recording, it is recommended to purchase JOYING's dedicated AR camera.
