Pre-Installation Steps:
- Turn off the hot and cold water supply valves under the sink or at the main water supply.
- Clear the area under the sink for easy access.
- Remove any existing faucet and clean the mounting surface.
Installation Procedure:
- Install Faucet Spout: Insert the faucet spout through the center hole of the sink or countertop. Secure it from underneath with the provided washer and mounting nut. Ensure the spout is properly oriented.
- Install Handle Assemblies: Insert the hot and cold handle assemblies through the outer holes. Secure them from underneath with their respective washers and mounting nuts.
- Connect Water Supply Lines: Attach the hot and cold water supply lines to the corresponding inlets on the faucet body and to the water supply valves. Hand-tighten, then use a wrench for a quarter turn. Do not overtighten.
- Install Drain Assembly: Follow the instructions provided with the drain assembly to install it into the sink drain hole. Ensure a watertight seal.
- Test for Leaks: Once all connections are made, slowly turn on the main water supply. Check all connections for leaks. If leaks occur, tighten the connections slightly.
5. Operation
The Riobel ED08+ faucet features dual cross handles for controlling water flow and temperature.
- Cold Water: Turn the right handle counter-clockwise to open for cold water.
- Hot Water: Turn the left handle counter-clockwise to open for hot water.
- Temperature Control: Adjust the mix of hot and cold water by rotating both handles simultaneously to achieve the desired temperature.
- Flow Control: The further the handles are turned, the greater the water flow.
6. Maintenance
Cleaning:
To maintain the finish of your faucet, clean it regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish. For stubborn spots, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by rinsing with clean water and drying with a soft cloth.
Aerator Maintenance:
If water flow decreases, the aerator may be clogged. Unscrew the aerator from the tip of the spout, clean any debris or mineral deposits, and then reattach it securely.
Ceramic Disc Valves:
The faucet is equipped with durable ceramic disc valves, which typically require no maintenance. If a leak occurs from the handles, contact customer support.
7. Troubleshooting
