Setup
Installation Methods
The gearelec Gmax headset offers two primary installation methods for your helmet: a clamp mount and an adhesive mount. Choose the method that best suits your helmet type and preference.

This image illustrates the two installation methods: Method 1 (top row) shows the clamp installation, and Method 2 (bottom row) shows the adhesive installation. Ensure the mount is securely attached to the helmet before attaching the headset unit.
Speaker and Microphone Placement
Carefully place the speakers inside the helmet's ear pockets, ensuring they are aligned with your ears for optimal sound. Route the microphone to a position where it is close to your mouth but does not obstruct your vision or comfort.
Initial Pairing with Third-Party Headsets (e.g., Sena)
When pairing your gearelec Gmax with a third-party intercom system for the first time, it is crucial to follow a specific sequence to ensure successful connection. Do not attempt to put both devices into universal pairing mode simultaneously, as this will prevent them from connecting.
- Prepare the Gmax: Power on your gearelec Gmax headset. Navigate its display to the 'Headphone to Bluetooth' setting. This treats the other device as a phone for initial pairing.
- Prepare the Third-Party Headset (e.g., Sena): For a Sena headset, hold the middle and left buttons for approximately 6 seconds to enter universal pairing mode.
- Initiate Pairing on Gmax: While the Gmax is on the 'Headphone to Bluetooth' setting, hold the microphone icon button for 4 seconds. Release, then press the microphone icon button once more.
- Connect: Power on your Sena headset. Once it enters its pairing mode (often indicated by flashing blue/red lights), the Gmax will automatically detect and connect to it. The Gmax display will change to 'Intercom' mode, and the Sena's lights will indicate a stable connection (e.g., solid blue).
This process only needs to be performed for the initial pairing. Subsequent connections will be automatic once both devices are powered on.
