4.3 Using Traxxas Link Telemetry

With the Traxxas Link app connected, you can monitor real-time telemetry data such as speed, RPM, and battery voltage directly on your mobile device. This feature helps in optimizing performance and understanding vehicle behavior.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and performance of your Traxxas Rustler 4x4 Ultimate VXL.

  • Cleaning: After each use, especially in dirty or wet conditions, clean the vehicle. Use compressed air to remove loose dirt and a soft brush or cloth for stubborn grime. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
  • Inspecting Components: Regularly check for loose screws, worn gears, damaged suspension components (shocks, control arms), and bent driveshafts. The aluminum upgrades are designed for durability, but inspect them for any signs of stress or damage.
  • Shock Maintenance: Check the GTR shocks for leaks and ensure smooth operation. Refill or replace shock oil as needed.
  • Motor and ESC: Keep the motor and ESC free of debris. While the VXL system is robust, excessive heat can reduce its lifespan. Consider adding a cooling fan if operating in high-temperature environments or during extended runs.
  • Tires and Wheels: Inspect Gravix tires for wear and tear. Ensure wheels are securely fastened.
  • Lubrication: Apply appropriate lubricants to moving parts as recommended in the detailed Traxxas manual (available on the Traxxas website).
