1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX ICE motherboard. 2. Setup and Installation
Before beginning installation, ensure your system is powered off and disconnected from the power source. Handle the motherboard by its edges to avoid static discharge.
2.1 Component Overview

- UD Power Connector: Main power input for the motherboard.
- 12+2+2 Twin Digital VRM Design: Power delivery system for stable voltage to the CPU.
- 4 x DIMMs, Dual Channel DDR5: Slots for installing DDR5 memory modules.

2.2 CPU Installation
- Locate the AM5 socket on the motherboard.
- Gently lift the load lever and open the load plate.
- Align the triangular mark on the CPU with the mark on the socket.
- Carefully place the CPU into the socket without forcing it.
- Close the load plate and press down the load lever until it clicks into place.

2.3 Memory (RAM) Installation
- Open the clips at both ends of the DIMM slots.
- Align the notch on the DDR5 memory module with the key in the DIMM slot.
- Insert the memory module firmly into the slot until the clips snap into place. Ensure both clips are closed.
- For dual-channel operation, install memory modules in the recommended paired slots (refer to your motherboard's detailed manual for specific slot configurations).
2.4 Storage (M.2 SSD) Installation
- Locate the M.2 slots on the motherboard. The B650 AORUS Elite AX ICE features three M.2 slots.
- Remove the M.2 Thermal Guard heatsink by unscrewing the retention screw.
- Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot at a 30-degree angle.
- Gently push down the SSD and secure it with the EZ-Latch mechanism or the provided screw.
- Reattach the M.2 Thermal Guard heatsink to ensure optimal SSD performance and cooling.
2.5 Graphics Card (GPU) Installation
- Locate the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot (usually the top-most full-length PCIe slot).
- Open the retention clip at the end of the PCIe slot.
- Align your graphics card with the slot and press down firmly until it is fully seated and the retention clip snaps into place.
- Secure the graphics card to your PC case with screws.
2.6 Connecting Peripherals and Power
- Connect the 24-pin ATX main power connector and the 8-pin CPU power connector from your power supply to the motherboard.
- Connect front panel headers (USB, audio, power buttons, LED indicators) to their respective pins on the motherboard.
- Connect SATA drives (if any) to the SATA ports.
