3. Setup and Installation

Replacing the vacuum belt is a straightforward process. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Power Off and Unplug: Ensure the vacuum cleaner is unplugged from the power outlet before beginning any maintenance.
  2. Access the Brush Roll: Lay the vacuum cleaner flat on its front. Locate and remove the bottom plate or cover that secures the brush roll. This usually involves unscrewing a few screws.
  3. Remove the Old Belt: Carefully remove the brush roll. The old, worn, or broken belt will be visible around the brush roll and motor pulley. Remove it.
  4. Install the New Belt: Place the new JEDELEOS replacement belt around the motor pulley first. Then, stretch the belt around the brush roll. Ensure the belt is seated correctly in the grooves of both the motor pulley and the brush roll.
  5. Reassemble: Reinsert the brush roll into its housing, ensuring the belt remains properly positioned. Replace the bottom plate or cover and secure it with the screws.
  6. Test: Plug in the vacuum cleaner and turn it on to verify that the brush roll spins correctly.

4. Operating Tips

With a new belt installed, your Hoover vacuum should operate with restored brush roll performance. For optimal cleaning, ensure the vacuum's height adjustment is appropriate for your flooring type.

5. Maintenance

To maintain the peak performance of your vacuum cleaner, it is recommended to replace the drive belt every 3 to 9 months. Regular inspection for wear, cracking, or stretching can help prevent unexpected loss of brush roll function.

6. Troubleshooting

If your vacuum's brush roll is not spinning or is performing poorly, a worn or broken belt is a common cause. Symptoms include:

  • Brush roll not rotating when the vacuum is on.
  • Reduced suction or cleaning effectiveness on carpets.
  • Unusual noises coming from the brush roll area.

If you experience these issues, inspect the belt for damage and replace it as described in the Setup and Installation section.
