3. Installation

Follow these steps to install your JeaTone W1S Digital WiFi Peephole Camera:

  1. Measure Door Thickness: Use a tape measure to determine your door's thickness. Select the appropriate screws from the provided set.
  2. Prepare Camera Unit: Attach the selected screw to the camera unit.
  3. Thread Cables: Pass the camera cable and screw through the existing peephole in your door. For easier installation, you can wrap the cable with a paper sleeve.
  4. Mounting Plate: From the inside of the door, attach the mounting plate, ensuring the cable passes through the designated slot. Secure it with the screw.
  5. Connect Monitor: Connect the camera cable to the monitor unit.
  6. Attach Monitor: Align the monitor with the mounting plate and slide it down to secure it.

4. App Connection

To fully utilize the smart features of your JeaTone W1S, connect it to the mobile application:

  1. Power On: Connect the camera unit to the monitor and power on the device.
  2. Download App: Download the TuyaSmart app from your smartphone's app store (available on Apple App Store and Google Play).
  3. Add Device: Open the TuyaSmart app, tap "Add Device," and select "Smart Doorbell" or "Doorbell Camera" under the "Camera & Lock" category.
  4. Reset Device: If prompted, press and hold the reset button on the monitor until you hear a prompt tone indicating a network reset.
  5. Enter Wi-Fi Details: Enter your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network name and password in the app.
  6. Scan QR Code: The app will display a QR code. Hold your phone with the QR code 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) in front of the peephole camera lens until you hear a successful connection prompt.
  7. Complete Setup: Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to complete the device connection.

5. Operation

Viewing Live Feed:

  • On Monitor: Press the button below the monitor screen to view the live feed from the outdoor camera.
  • Via App: Open the TuyaSmart app and select your device to view the live feed remotely.

Motion Detection:

The integrated PIR motion sensor detects activity at your door. When motion is detected, the device will automatically record and send real-time alerts to your smartphone via the app.

Two-Way Audio:

Communicate with visitors directly through the device. When a visitor presses the doorbell button, you can answer via the mobile app and engage in a two-way conversation.

Night Vision:

6. Maintenance

Battery Charging:

The device is powered by a 5000mAh rechargeable lithium battery. When the battery level is low, connect the monitor to a power source using the provided USB cable. A full charge provides approximately 3 months of standby time, or less depending on usage frequency.

Cleaning:

Wipe the camera lens and monitor screen with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or smudges. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to a power source and try again.
  • No image on monitor: Check the cable connection between the camera unit and the monitor. Ensure the camera lens is not obstructed.
  • App connection issues:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. 5 GHz networks are not supported.
    • Verify the Wi-Fi password is correct.
    • Make sure the device is near your Wi-Fi router during setup.
    • Perform a device reset as described in the App Connection section.
    • Ensure the QR code is scanned from the correct distance (15-20 cm).
  • Motion detection not working: Adjust the motion detection sensitivity in the app settings. Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the sensor.
  • Poor night vision: Ensure the camera lens is clean. Check for any external light sources that might interfere with the infrared sensors.
  • Short battery life: Frequent motion detection events, live viewing, or two-way audio calls will consume more battery. Reduce sensitivity or usage if extended battery life is desired.
