Setup and Installation
The tectake clamp awning is designed for easy, drill-free installation. Follow these steps carefully:
- Prepare the Installation Area: Ensure the area where the awning will be installed is clean and clear. The telescopic poles require a stable floor and ceiling/balcony overhang for secure clamping.
- Assemble the Support Poles: Connect the sections of the telescopic support poles. Insert the anti-slip protective caps onto both ends of each pole.
- Attach Clamping Mechanisms: Secure the clamping mechanisms/brackets to the support poles at the desired height for the awning roller. Ensure they are firmly tightened.
- Mount the Awning Roller: Carefully attach the awning roller to the clamping mechanisms on the support poles. Ensure it is centered and level.
- Position and Extend Poles: Place the assembled awning in its desired position. Extend the telescopic poles until they firmly clamp between the floor and the ceiling/balcony overhang. Use the adjustment knobs to secure the height.
- Attach Extension Arms: Connect the extension arms to the awning roller and the support poles. These arms allow for angle adjustment.
- Insert Crank Handle: Insert the crank handle into its designated opening on the awning mechanism. The crank can be mounted on either side for optimal adjustment.

Operating Instructions
Operating your tectake clamp awning is straightforward:
- Extending the Awning: Turn the crank handle clockwise to extend the awning fabric. Continue turning until the desired projection is reached.
- Retracting the Awning: Turn the crank handle counter-clockwise to retract the awning fabric. Ensure the fabric is fully retracted when not in use or during adverse weather.
- Adjusting the Angle: The extension arms allow for flexible angle adjustment. Loosen the arm adjustment knobs, set the desired angle (from diagonal sun protection to vertical privacy screen), and re-tighten the knobs securely.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life and appearance of your awning:
- Cleaning the Fabric: The awning fabric is water-repellent and easy to clean. Use a soft brush or cloth with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry completely before retracting. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Cleaning the Frame: Wipe the powder-coated steel and aluminum frame with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a silicone-based lubricant to moving parts, such as the crank mechanism and arm joints, to ensure smooth operation.
- Seasonal Storage: For prolonged periods of non-use, especially during winter, it is recommended to retract the awning completely and, if possible, store it in a dry, protected area to prevent damage from extreme weather.
Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:
- Awning does not extend/retract smoothly:
- Check for obstructions in the mechanism or fabric path.
- Apply lubricant to the crank mechanism and arm joints.
- Ensure the crank handle is fully inserted and engaged.
- Awning feels unstable:
- Verify that the telescopic poles are fully extended and securely clamped between the floor and ceiling/overhang.
- Ensure all clamping mechanisms and adjustment knobs are tightly secured.
- Check that the anti-slip caps are properly seated.
- Fabric appears dirty or stained:
- Clean the fabric as described in the Maintenance section.
