Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Placement: For optimal performance, plug the Powerline adapters directly into a wall socket. Avoid power strips, surge protectors, or extension cords, as these can interfere with the Powerline signal.
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check for firmware updates from the AVM website to ensure optimal performance and security. Updates can typically be managed through the FRITZ!Box interface or the FRITZ!Powerline software.
Troubleshooting
No Powerline Connection (Powerline LED off or blinking)
- Ensure both Powerline adapters are plugged directly into wall sockets and powered on.
- Try plugging the adapters into different wall sockets within the same electrical circuit.
- Avoid using power strips or surge protectors, as they can degrade the Powerline signal.
- If you have multiple electrical phases in your home, a phase coupler might be required for optimal performance across phases.
Slow Connection Speed
- Ensure adapters are not plugged into power strips.
- Minimize electrical interference from other devices (e.g., motors, dimmers) plugged into the same circuit.
- Check the quality of your electrical wiring. Older or poorly installed wiring can affect performance.
- Verify that the Powerline LED is solid green, indicating a strong connection.
Wi-Fi Issues (WLAN LED off or unstable)
- Ensure the WLAN function is enabled on the adapter.
- If part of a Mesh network, ensure the FRITZ!Box is functioning correctly and the Mesh connection is active.
- Try resetting the Wi-Fi settings on the Powerline adapter by pressing the "Connect" button for a few seconds.
